The best portable tie down currently on the market, in my humble opinion!
Undo those control locks and buckle in for a lengthy review. This is going to be longer than it needs to be for what the item is, but I want to make sure everyone understands why I like these so much.I purchased these as a temporary solution for tie downs on my grass parking pad while I waited for the ground to soften up a bit so I could dig it up and pour some cement. I was then going to keep these as my traveling kit so I could tie down nice and snug regardless of where I went. If you are like me, you probably weren't very impressed with any of the devices currently on the market for portable tie downs. There are numerous videos of people ripping them out of the ground at far less than their rated load and most failing well under 500lbs. I think it's pretty easy to deduce that even three of them isn't going to hold your investment down. When these arrived I noticed the very sturdy build quality of everything included. The pegs are very thick and robust, and the metal for the tie downs themselves feels very strong. The rope is high tensile strength and it all feels like it will resist a lot of force and UV. The hammer looks and feels like something you would just buy at the department store with their colors and name on it; it's pretty cool and it gets the job done.Their videos showed it holding quite firmly to the ground up to 2000 lbs. The videos show around 4000 lbs as the point the device rips out of the ground, but I define failing as when the product starts to show physical signs of damage or starting to be removed from the ground. So for simplicity sake, lets just say it has a working load of 1500 lbs without any damage or risk of being pulled free from the ground. The kit comes with three, so you have 4500 lbs of reliable holding force!! If you want to take absolute failure point numbers into consideration, that's three of them at 4000 lbs which equates to 12,000 lbs. I could not find numbers like this for any of the other portable solutions out there. And as the saying goes, the proof of the pudding is in the eating. Last couple of weeks we have been having real bad winds with a tonne of clear air turbulence. Most days the wind has exceeded 30 knots and the worst we have had so far was gusts of 45 knots. The plane has had this wind from all angles without much to obstruct the wind or slow it down. Not the greatest weather for flying, but perfect for testing out these tie downs while cringing on drive out to the airport to see how things worked out.I do have to admit, I've been pleasantly surprised. The plane has not moved an inch, and the tie downs did not require the pegs to be hammered down again. I figured they would have backed out some but they are still rock solid. This system is substantially better than the heavy tires with 6 sand bags on top of each that I had been using for a while and I'm not cringing every time heavy winds come through any more. I was going to put some cement down as aforementioned, but I think I'm just going to buy a second kit and leave these permanently installed! They are a bit of a pain to take out of the ground if you have it hammered in well, but not impossible (which is a good thing, show's it's holding firm).Great product and I highly recommend these, they have taken the nervousness out of having my plane outside in a strong wind storm.

Easy to use tie downs
These do the job. Yes you can make these yourself, but for the price, my time was more valuable. I did not extensively test these with load gauges or wait for high winds or tornadoes. I just know I bought these for tying down at Oshkosh, and they worked well. The tie downs arrived in a compact kit with all needed items inside. Pulled it out when I parked and used it without any confusion or complication. The plane (Mooney 201) stayed in place. I was able to pull the anchors out later without much effort, and it all packed into its bag without fuss. I did use motorcycle tie downs instead of the included ropes, because I am not good at knots. The ropes are good enough quality, so I am keeping them in the kit for the future.

Very secure tie down set.
Very much like how easy they are to instal and remove - literally in seconds. They’re VERY secure if used properly and I highly recommend.

The entire kit is very sturdy and well made
I recently purchased this to use at the 2018 EAA fly in in Oshkosh. The entire kit is very sturdy and well made. My only complaint is that the spikes are steel and as such make the whole kit heavier than it needs to be. Stormforce should use aluminum spikes
