If you ever wondered if magnetic USB solves those everyday problems the answer is yes.
Magnetic USB are a godsend for the clumsy like myself. In the past, I have damaged so many USB ports to several devices by accidentally pulling cords incorrectly. With the magnetic USB it prevents me from snagging it, pulling on it incorrectly, and it quick to connect and disconnect. The added benefit is that it prevents dust and debris from getting into the port which happens when stuffing devices into pockets. The cord itself is well made, I thoroughly abuse it through twisting it on itself and so far no internal breakage of the wire and no wearing of the outer braid. I particularly find it amusing that when connecting my phone to charge just moving the magnetic parts together will get them to snap together like magic and simply lifting the phone away will disconnect it. It's just so easy.

2nd, 5th, 7th Gen Differences
Many of us with and without families own a variety of devices. I've had the 2nd, 5th, and 7th generation of these Netdot magnetic charging cables. The 2nd Gen was originally purchased for my young daughter's tablet since she can be 'hard' on charging cables for devices with a micro USB port. That cable worked so well I picked up another 2nd gen for my wife. Important note both of the devices in this scenario were Samsung A series tablets. The cables were long, the system self-aligned when connecting, and the micro usb adapter didn't back out of the device. The light was super bright and annoying. The system would only disconnect if my daughter was using the tablet while it was charging. I could hear the connection and disconnection. The 5th Gen was procured to replace my daughter's system because the protective weave of her 2nd gen cable had been pulled back exposing the insulated wiring. To ensure compatibility with the 5th gen system throughout the house I also replaced my wife's 2nd gen system. With the track record of performance on the 2nd gen system, we decided to add the 5th gen to my wife's iPhone 8 and her car charger. The 5th gen performed just as well as the 2nd gen for all devices in all scenarios. The 7th Gen was purchased for my Samsung S9+ and Samsung Tab S3. I bought these in spite of some less than stellar reviews because I couldn't believe the product could be that bad. The USB C insert has a difficult time not backing out slightly when the cable is disconnected. This impacts subsequent connections if it goes unnoticed. The cable in the 7th gen is only 3.3'/1m which isn't a deal breaker for me. Unfortunately, the magnet system isn't as powerful at self-aligning. This could be from weaker magnets or the fact it's more difficult for the system to self-align with the shorter cable. The system DOES fast charge with the OEM charger for the respective device. The system DOESNT fast charge on the car chargers although they are QC 3 certified. The bottom line is I knew what I was getting and paid for the convenience after noticing how easy it was for my spouse to connect at the end of the day. The short cable is acceptable and likely a necessity for the system's compatibility with OEM fast charging. I'd like Netdot to rework the USB C adapter for a more secure connection when installed on USB C devices. The magnet power needs to be increased to help the system self-align due to the shorter cable.Again the 7th gen fast charges with my OEM samsung adapters. It doesnt fast charge with non-OEM QC3 certified adapters or car chargers. That's not what I bought it for and your experience may vary.I hope Netdot sends out improved adapters that stay seated and self-align more easily. I have not tested (nor do I plan too) the compatibility between the 5th gen cables and adapters and the 7th gen cables and adapters.

Cables don't work with Samsung Galaxy A52 phone
These cables don't work with Samsung Galaxy A52 phone. The phone won't charge with any of them. I found out when I bought a new phone, 4 months after I bought these cables so it was too late to return them to Amazon. Waste of money. Don't buy these. You don't know if they'll work with your next phone.

Doesn't work with Samsung A50
If you have a Samsung A50 don't bother buying these. Magnetic chargers will not work with it. I tried everything to try and make them work but no luck had to return them. Customer support was very helpful and got me a return with no issues.

2 tablets rescued from the death ward
We have had these for several weeks and love them. First, 1 watch out: because they are magnetic, I could see them picking up metal filings, if the end was allowed to pass near them, but we have not had this happen. Just the nature of magnets. Now the positives. We have several devices with worn out micro USB ports that charger (might be because children have no comprehension of what "be careful" or "easy" means). 1 device wouldn't charge and 1 if you put pressure on the connector. With these ends, we could put pressure on them and add a bit of hot glue. Now all 3 of the children's tablets charge 100% of the time, and there is no risk of them damaging the cords nor the port on the tablets. Now, for my phone. I can connect it up and disconnect it with out looking at the connector. The green LED indicating power is a plus! We bought 12 cable pairs because we love them! My wife has a phone with a usb c connector so we can share the same cables. Finally, the pièce de ré·sis·tance, the data lines also connect through so I can transfer data from my phone to my pc. A colleague has a different brand that only has power connections :(
