It’s great!
I have always had low iron since I was child. The supplements never really worked or they just made me sick. I started using a cast iron skillets quite often, but that’s not always possible so I thought I would give this a try. It’s perfect for soup and such, I just drop it in the pot for about five minutes and then take it out rinse it and oil it. You have to oil it so it doesn’t rust just like your cast-iron pots. if you leave it too long, you will definitely be able to taste the iron, so limited till about five minutes and use it often. I can now donate blood with no problems, my iron levels are very good.

Love this iron egg
My iron kevel has been low (I have been declined to donate blood becauseof it!) and was taking some supplements. But wanted to take iron in other way.I keep this iron egg in a kettle with filters water and use the water for cooking, drinking etc. My hands and feet were always ice cold but they haven't been since I started using this.Completely happy with my purchase and even love the fact this egg will last for a long long time!Ps, Nanbu tetsu is the most trusted iron in Japan.

use it when e remember. always wash and dry and the cover with olive oil. works well, stays in good condition. we also cook with castiron pans which helps.

Make sure to take out right away if draining noodles or they will stick and leave bits. As pictured. Can't tell if it's working yet but nothing adverse.

The flavor is not so good
For better taste, leave it in the food for 5 minutes. Longer than that, it will add a very strong iron flavor.

Personal protection and additional iron
The egg is heavy. It would do good damage if you threw it at someone! One reviewer said "it rusts". Well duh.... it's iron. You have to take care of it like a cast iron pot/pan - put a light coat of oil after each use. Just use non animal oil - vegetable/coconut/olive oil/etc. Wash, dry, a light coat of oil, I put it back in the original plastic bag and box. It's not like cookware because it doesn't require seasoning but you need the oil so it doesn't rust. I decided on the egg vs the fish versions because of where it's manufactured.
