MIDWAY Transitional Handrail (Black)

The screws that were sent with it were worthless.

Pretty easy to assemble and install. I did not use the supplied cement screw anchors.

Due to spinal injury I have the most unpleasant experience of falling. The majority of these falls happen to be off my porch or stairs, my foot will drag and with no railings (well I have an old one but it would probably make things worse) it was pretty much 4 steps of falling and meeting the pavement at the bottom. Each falls carries the risk of paralysis. So in a desperate attempt to make my home safer for me, I started looking on Ana on for railings. Most people know railings are ugly, and usually flimsy even when installed properly. These are neither, they have a nice upside down curve which flows nicely with going up or down the steps. They are attractive, and the install hardware is solid. The drilling into concrete is the toughest part, but once you get the bolts in, these are sturdy, good looking and unique. I haven’t yet installed my second one because this one is so good I don’t really need it. However two is better than one, so I will eventually install it. Easy to install looks nice.

As we got older, we needed a handrail on our porch. We bought this one but found that the deck was not sturdy enough to hold it without some alterations to the mounting surfaces. I removed the deck boards and placed 2x12 boards beneath them which were screwed into the original cement stoop. I had aluminum brackets made to bolt to the sub-structure and then I attached the railing to the brackets. The result was a very nice looking and extremely rigid railing. I am happy with the outcome. The railing assembled easily and more hardware was provided than was needed. I recommend this product.

First, the first one shipped never arrived (I do not blame the seller for that), and then the replacement was late.Then when I tried installing I used a 1/4 inch masonry drill bit like the instructions say, but that was too small for the installation screws so putting in the screws shattered my cement and one of the screws broke off.Now I have to repair my ramp and buy all new screws IF I decide to even use it.The unit itself seems fine, but if you buy it then use a 3/8 drill bit for the starter holes!

Sturdy! I was surprised how solid and sturdy this handrail is. Heavy metal, nice paint job. Hired a guy to install it and it didn't take long. He also was impressed with how sturdy it was and commented that the railings available at local building supply stores are not nearly this heavy.

This hand railing is sturdy, and was easy to install. The black iron look is very cool looking. It goes well with any porch look.
