Too good to be true
I rarely, I mean rarely issue 1 star reviews, but this item could be nothing higher than 1 star. I would have rated it a zero if the option was available. I made this purchase because the idea was genius. Clamp it down to the top part of your desk, extend the arm in the direction you needed it to, make sure that the elbows were locked in, and that's it. Simple, the same design as a desk lamp. The downside to this is that the product was made very possibly using the cheapest (cost and quality) materials available. The moment that I inserted the arm/extension into the desk clamp (which was the first indication of quality), my iPad started to swivel around without me even moving it. Then, the plastic/cheap metal part which was the key part for stability and also inserts into the desk clamp slowly started to bend. Eventually from me bending it back into "straight" position so many times, the piece just snapped off. No way of gluing it back. No alternative method of solidifying the product to be stable. In short, this should have never made it out wherever this was produced. I will never buy this product, nor from this seller, ever again. I didn't bother reaching out to the seller as I did not want to deal with this at the time. This lasted me less than 12 hours before it found its way into a trash can.

Holds Tightly!
I was looking for a stand that would hold my tablet/phone parallel to the table (for shooting animation).I LOVE this holder. It's lightweight enough to be portable. Clamps easily and stays put. It's construction is solid for the price. With three pivot joints, it can be positioned any way you need it to be.The nuts are plastic, so take care not to strip them.It holds my iPad Pro 12.9" tablet, but the iPad was a little heavy - I couldn't tighten it enough for it not to slip if bumped, which wouldn't work for my intended use. It held a smaller iPad well and worked really well with my iPhone 8 Plus.

Cheaply made will only last a year
This product lasted one month in a couple weeks. It’s made out of cheap metal and I found that the part that goes into the base is hollow metal that has been formed in the shape of a cylinder. what happens is the weight applied against it by the device will make it bend then break off. If you own one of these are ready I would suggest that you find a bolt that is the size that will fit inside this hollow Peg and glue it in place and that will provide the support that is really neededVery Disappointing

Worked great for my terminally ill father-in-law
This worked great for us. We originally got this for my father-in-law who was terminally ill and could no longer hold the phone up to see what was going on, or who was calling. His brothers appreciated being able to see him during FaceTime or Skype calls, which was nice because he couldn’t hold the phone up to his face. The arm assembled easily and the clip/springbar phone holder portion feels very secure. The plastic grip that connects to the stands or tables is also very strong and doesn’t loosen on its own over time.I did adjust one piece however, the hinges on the arm have tightening screws, so you can “lock” your arm in a single position, that works great, but the I use the arm coming from my right side, and the tightening screw was getting in the way, up by the actual phone. I was able to easily adjust this by using a small Allen wrench, pulling the screw out, flipping the piece over, and putting the screw back in.The only negative part that I could say about the arm is that when holding a phone, the pads holding the phone typically cover the speakers, so putting something on speaker phone will sound very muffled unless you adjust the position of the phone.Overall, I really enjoy this, and my father-in-law was able to use it too.

Great idea.
I love the idea, and I love the product; however, the nut that holds the actual phone/tablet stopped locking after only 3 uses. I am so disappointed. I have not contacted the company. If I decide to mess with it again, I will take it to my local hardware store to see if I can match it up.

Works OK, but flawed
The good: sturdy construction, holds an iPad without problem. The bad:The arm attachment into the base isn't tight enough so the arm will slowly rotate away from you when viewing. I added some plastic tape to shim the gap which helped slightly but it still swivels away over a few minutes. The clamp slowly backs out of position after moving the arm over time. The plastic threads leave a lot to be desired when clamping it down. It also takes a large amount of surface area to clamp down so the overhang on a nightstand wont work very well.Overall it works, kind of. I wouldn't buy it again however.

Not strong enough
Too much hassle to return but it’s not sturdy enough to hold up a heavier iPad with a case. Which defeats the purpose unfortunately.

Loosens Over Time
I've used this for a good few months now, not for my ipad as I originally intended but for my iphone 6. I use it to film the overhead shots for my art videos. It was great at first but recently I've noticed it's started to shift ever so slightly and it's a pain. I don't notice it's shifting when I'm watching my clips at normal speed, but when sped up, it's infuriatingly noticeable.
