To my surprise, no programming needed. Just put batteries in and it worked.

I broke my original remote and scrapped it together and it barely would work. So I looked up my remote number which is located on the part that opens up for the batteries. Found the matching one because yes there is differences even with this remote some have all black buttons for numbers some have it where 5 is grey and the rest black. Just got it in the mail today. Make sure the batteries you put in it are good and not dead.... Like I did haha. Put new batteries in and it worked great I'm glad I bought the same one and not some off brand. I would suggest the same remote that came with the tv like this one.

much better than the one that came with the TV. It could have been larger for ease of use. Everything about the engineer that designed this must have been tiny, because he sure designed a tiny remote.
