DO NOT BUY
The description is a total fabrication!“ You will be getting a nice plant if you order from BayLeaf Nursery. For this listing, a minimum of 7 inch plant with a 3 inch SOLID rootball is what we ship. There are many sellers shipping from China and other sellers who are not growers. Be smart buy from a NURSERY. Nurseries guarantee live plants and they are there to assist you. The rest are dropshippers ordering smaller plants and pocketing the difference.. Much Love from BayLeaf Nursery.”No 3” root ball - just a cutting stuck in dry dirt. Nearly dead! Not, 7” tall, not even 3 inches!!If I could give ZERO stars I would!

Thoughts about bay lesf.
The plant certainly doesn't look like the photo. It's visible very small, hardly coming out of the soil. Shipping not very professional. Masking tape over the dirt. Not fully. Dirt came out and the plant was loosened. The plant, I think I can save, and I'm thrilled to have the plant again! I hope. My little stub looks okish. It's also not I the appropriate soil. I have however, in a very rich seen it growing wild in California in different soils. It was planted in a rich beginning soil instead of a more sandy one. The plant died.

Almost 4-star
DHL eCommerce shipped it to my local USPS. This caused me concern. A lot of concern. Our mail box is in a multi-box pod at the end of the street. Had I not been home & saw the postal carrier drive by, I would have had for sure dead trees. It is exceptionally HOT here right now. Feels like temps in the 110F's for weeks. So, the trees are now in a full spectrum climate controlled 75F tree ICU. About 3-4 weeks of obs before patio placement for this seasons acclimatization & green house overwintering. Looking for bugs, disease, dead/dying leave etc.The trees look really nice. As advertized height, & solid root ball (had to prop a canted tree). Each tree was in a clear vented bag. The dirt was secured by a bunch of paper tape, which removed easily.Due to our freakish late winter snowpococlypse and our above & below zero single digit temps with 12" snow for a week, we lost all our flower beds & a few trees. Starting over now. The local options for Laurus Nobilis were 8x in price. Due to HOA ankle-biting, had to take a chance on shipping trees.Looking forward to trellis train them for a hedge (as seen in Rome, It). Evergreen & edible. What’s not to love about that? How can the process improve? Add a DHL, FedEx, or UPS overnight option & put perishable on the box. For the solid 5th star.

Plant won’t grow….
I received this plant in May (7 months ago) but something is wrong. It won’t grow. I’ve tried to be patient. I’ve kept it in the sun out on the porch, moisture contents good. In September I repotted it with some miracle grow feed dirt, nothing has helped it. It’s just been like this since I got it, I’m not very pleased with this plant….i don’t know why it isn’t growing I’m in zone 8.

LIARS!!!
They lied about the size of the plant. It came with two leaves but that’s not what the picture shows that you were going to get.It had this white substance on the leaves that I cleaned off, but I didn’t know what that substance was. I’m hoping it wasn’t a fungus or something that will kill the plant. It came with no instructions of how to care for the plant. This company fooled me. I sure hope I’m able to make this baby grow and be healthy. This company misled me. I could’ve purchased the plant by looks along, even with just the two leaves, if this is how the Bay Leaf Tree starts, but just tell the truth and give instructions of how to care for it would’ve been a better option for me.So because of them misleading me, I will never use this company again.I’m hopeful, I can give this baby, the love and care so that it can grow and be healthy and useful to me, as I do love the bay leaf, I use it every day.

So far so good...updated
So far so good, delivery was a small healthy plant that I've already transferred to a larger container with well fertilized soil and sands... I'm posting 3 stars so far since many other reviews stated it only lasted 4 months on average, I will post again if it survives that long and actually, if it does or not... I'll update the star rating and the written review.UPDATE....Ok... it's been several months since the plant arrived.... it's now December and temperature outside is averaging a high of 3*C.....and it's still alive! Brought it indoors for the winter... greenhouse is a bit too cheap and flimsy to take the chance.... anyway...upgraded review to 4 stars. Will update again when it's actually grown more and has more leavesOk, Another UpdateIt’s almost June 2023. Bought this in August 2022, posting an updated photo that shows the little tree has not only survived the winter indoors by the kitchen window and is now “awakening” with several more leaves sprouting from the center stem . Hopefully it will continue to thrive! Very excited to see how well it does!

Arrived Safe 3 wks. 10 month update good growth.
After a tense 3 weeks bay tree arrived. I had given up hope. Well packed. Moist. Dirt intact. No complaints. And a follow up 10 months later. All good. Summer, fall, winter you could see it very very slowly expanding on its buds. I do mean slow. But nice green color in the cracks. Lost 1 of 3 leaves shortly after arrival. the other 2 held good. Gentle watering. not too much, the whole time. I transplanted it this week. The roots were very full and healthy. It is now budding 10X what it was. My new baby. I will add picture maybe june.
