Update 9/13/18The seller has sent me a new clamp that works much better than the original one. Instead of a spring loaded clip that I had much difficulty attaching, I now have an easy to attach C-clamp that works very well. Props to the seller for outstanding customer service. They took my review into consideration and actually designed and sent me the new design. You don't see that very often. Very impressed. I have updated my review to 5 stars as a result.I was a little nervous buying this because there were no reviews, but I took a chance because I couldn't find any other magnifying glass like this that was 5x magnification. Everything else was either 1.75x or 3x. Some had a smaller portion of the main glass that was a higher magnification but I wanted an unobstructed view so I didn't want that feature. Anyway, I'm glad I took the chance on this one because it's exactly what I was looking for and, so far, it appears to be of good quality.Pros- Dimmable led lights- Clamp or regular stand for the base- 5X magnificationCons- Attaching the clamp to the light is a pain. There's not a lot of room to get a wrench or pliers in there to turn the nut. Also, the hole wasn't quite big enough so I had to drill it out a little to make it fit.- The clamp itself isn't the greatest. It doesn't hold very well because there are foam pads which aren't very grippy. I guess I could fix that by attaching some rubber pieces or something, but I didn't feel like messing with that.Overall, it's a magnifying glass. Pretty simple, it does what it's supposed to do, and I got my 5X magnification. The clamp could be better, but it's not unusable. Minus a star due to the clamp, but 4 stars for the rest of it being well made.

I did quite a bit of looking around on Amazon for a magnifying lamp that was highly rated and wouldn't break the bank. I kept coming back to this one. I wasn't disappointed! The lamp is sturdy, with a solid base. It's well-made, and has a pleasantly strong light. That, in combination with the magnifying glass, makes it perfect for painting miniatures and model kits. I used to paint them when I was younger and now that I'm about 50, my vision isn't the same. I thought I couldn't take up the hobby again, but with a good pair of glasses and the TOMSOO lamp I'm painting once again.

The light seems to be pretty good quality, the light works perfectly. It does not stay in place very well if you want the light to bend past the base very much. Overall though, it gets the job done!

I recently purchased a Brightlight, which was not dimmable and way too hard on one’s eyes, so I returned it.This lamp is dimmable, not at all top heavy and good for nails, hand sewing, small jewelry n wire repair. I also purchased an expensive rolling lamp for use near my sewing machine. Good for young and old!

I bought this magnifier lamp primarily for electronics, as my aging eyes now struggle to read component markings. The degree of magnification suits my needs well; the focal length leaves plenty of room to solder without the magnifier interfering. Light quality is excellent, variability is smooth. The lid that covers the lens when not in use can close at inconvenient times. Happily, it could be removed without breaking anything, leaving the option of reinstalling it later, if desired. I would purchase this item again, if I needed another.

Pros: Excellent light. Relatively powerful and clear magnification. Uses a standard USB charger to power the light.Cons: Dust cover is flimsy. Fairly unstable. If you need to use the magnifier close to the table that the lamp is sitting on, then expect the lamp to fall over. The power cable is permanently attached to the lamp instead of using a micro USB or USB-C connector at the lamp side.Update December 1, 2020: I've had this for 2 years. It gets used for a few minutes every week at most. Obviously, the LED lights are dimmable, but the maximum brightness of the lights has slowly decreased and I'd estimate it's at 75% of when it was new.

Love everything about this light, purchased to work making jewelry. Was unsure if the 5X magnifier was large enough to be usable, but is perfect. The only negative is when using the flat base the light will tend to tip over if bent too far and close to your work surface. (It does include a attachable clamp but this makes it impossible to quickly move the light to work at different angles, and will scar your table.) solved this by simply placing a 1 1/2 pound weight lifting disc atop the base plate. Will probably permanently attach this disc with either double faced tape or drilling a small hole in the center of the base plate and attaching the weight with small washer and bolt/nut combo. Still fel this a great light and recommend it.

I have used this a while now, wrote a review a few days after I got this. I use this on a desk to look at small items. What you see looks fine. I use it to read small print. As several other reviewers noted, this is unstationary, tips and turns over easily. I bought two-sided tape and hope it is heavy enough to hold this in place on the desk.
