Used it to seal fireplace and... turbo exhaust manifold??
This product was easy to use and once it sets, is rock solid. It is recommended in the instructions to add a little water because the cement is really viscous and thick. Once water is added, the product flows and smooths better than silicone caulking! It then takes some time to dry and use; I waited about a day.I used the cement to seal in my fireplace but also later on, my boat's turbo diesel exhaust manifold. My exhaust manifold developed small holes due to rust and it would have a major pain to remove them because of space. I tried the furnace cement as it could not do any more harm and it worked! It is holding strong and no more exhaust is leaking. I've put 20+ hours on the engines and the seal is still fine. I would not recommend, however, putting this product on areas where flexing can occur because of its rigidity.Whether sealing fireplaces or exhaust pieces, this product works.

It does the job
It does the job. Don't expect this to be a permanent solution. The material will dry and crack with time and must be regularly replaced.

Maybe if used for right applications
I bought this for use with my pellet stove. Unfortunately, I should have done some research before using it. I used it both inside and out. The seal I made outside with this washed away with a few months of rain even though I let it cure properly. The places I used this around the flue pipe inside ended up cracking. I decided to go with a high temperature silicone sealant instead which was the right product for my application.

Shout out to Coffee-Cup's review.
After reading Coffee-Cup's review I used this product to repair 2 burned out (all the way through) tobacco pipes.Product came out of the tube in an almost liquid state so I had my doubts.Spread it evenly with my fingers and followed directions. Let set for 24 hours before applying heat with a Zippo torch and now I can smoke my favorite pipe again.Easily cleaned up excess with a paper towel.

Fantastic Product
We just installed a wood stove insert into our old fireplace and this stuff did the trick! We used it to seal all the joints for the flex-duct to the stove itself. This was there was no concerns for air leakage. Overall the product has worked great so far. When we applied it, it hardened after a day and the stove was good to go. I have read other reviews that talked about the product needing to be reapplied after a year so I plan to check that and get back with you. But all that said, this is a great product.

REBUILDING INSIDE OF AN OLD FIREPLACE IN OLD RESTORED FARM HOUSE IN WOODINVILLE WASH.
It is black and we used quite a bit of it. Have not had a fire inside but we also used the refrectory cement. Order the big gal. side. We removed loose bricks & reused them As you begin the rebuilt the inside of an old fireplace, all loose bricks fall out than first intended. So the job gets more involved. REMOVE ALL YOUR LOOSE BRICKS AND ORDER ACCORDEDLY.
