Do I need a case trimmer also to use this product?

Yes, you will need a trimmer eventually even if using new brass if you’re looking for the most accurate loads you can get. I started using one of these in 1983 to reload .243 win. I still have it and use it today even though I now have 7 presses. This die sizes the neck only. So using your own fire formed cases from your rifle will work the best. Just be sure to use a wooden or plastic hammer or mallet to seat the primer or you’ll be in for a surprise. Solid wood or solid hard plastic NO METAL in the hammer at all or it will detonate the primer!  I only made this mistake once and tried one of the hammers with the changeable ends and popped the primer. Since you’re not gonna need one eventually even though you’re going to be doing low volume reloading on this, one of the Lee case trimmers or zip trimmer works great! Happy reloading my friend!

If i have the correct ammo case for the M1 can i still use this product?

Hi, Ryan.
Bottom line is, the ammo case, clip or brass is not the problem, Lee does not recommend using this reloader for semi-automatic rifles, because it does not crimp the round, you can buy a crimper but that kind of defeats the purpose of using this loader, as you would need a reloading press to use the crimper and if you have a press the you should just get .30-06 dies and reload normally.
the problem that can happen, is if you reload a round with the spring loader and fire it in any semi-auto, the movement of the bolt can force the bullet back into the case search: (reloading bullet over seated) to get an idea of what I'm talking about, this may not cause a problem especially if its very slight, BUT it could also blow up your rifle, causing injury or death and last I checked the price of m1's  and hospital bills are going up. my recommend is to buy a "Lee Precision Breech Lock Hand Press Kit" its more expensive, larger, a bit heavier but its quieter (no loud banging) and its a full press so you can crimp, size,...etc. its basically a modern version of what they used back in the old west, you will still need reloading dies. if you still want to use the spring loader I would shoot your M1 like a bolt action with the gas system turned off and be very careful, or look into paper patching your bullets, but to do that properly you need a bullet sizing die, your barrel diameter and a full press, or using bullets a size or two up (.309-.310) but you still need to know the diameter of your barrel, and not use a bullet that's to big, or it could blow up. the last two are so the bullet fits snug or seats better in the brass case and doesn't slide down, if you don't know the size of your barrel then you can "slug' it to find out there are instructional videos on youtube. 
I'm assuming that you would be buying this for a SHTF kind of thing, if so when you consider everything you need/would be carrying: powder, primers and bullets, your better off getting a full press, that way you can do everything with no problems, and if you get into casting your own bullets you can resize them as well.

a hand brass case trimmer "Lyman 7821890 E-Zee Trim Hand Case"  and pilot "Lyman Products E-ZEE Trim Pilot for 30-06 Rifle"
and if you haven't already looked into it the M1 in its original configuration has a narrow window of reloads that it can shoot and still work, look into a "m1 Garand adjustable gas plug" this allows you to shoot heavier or lighter loads.
and if you don't have one already start with a good reloading manual, it will help you cut thro all the crap in the "kits" the company's try to sell you that you don't need

What is needed for semiauto gun

Semiautomatic requires full length resizing of the case. This kit will not work properly for you as it neck sizes only.  The rounds will jam and the weapon will not function. Shooting a semiautomatic  would invest in a good starter kit with a bench press and select the proper dies. I use Hornady American series dies. They are very affordable and very high quality.
