Q: Can one get one's legs under the table sufficiently when seated?

I wouldn’t waste my money this is so uncomfortable I used it once only in last 11 months of owning it! Now just a dumping ground.

Q: Do you have to assemble this?

Yes but it is not difficult. Just take your time and don't tighten the chair assembly until it all fits together . It can be adjusted and refitted as you progress if it doesn't seem correct. It's useful to have a helper on hand.
