An amazing true story of resilience and determination to survive against overwhelming odds. You're thrown right into the drama from the very first paragraph, this book is objectively written and not sensationalised and has original photos from the expedition. I think it would be very hard to read this book and not to be impressed by Shackleton and his men, and the author too for putting the story together so very well.

Everyone should read this, from teenagers upward (not recommended for younger or sensitive children, even if they're strong readers, due to upsetting content involving animals) It's very exciting, yet moving and deeply humbling. The photos really take you there and the writing is very vivid and evocative. The map at the beginning is insufficient so you may want to have the relevant page(s) of a decent atlas handy. You will end up lending it to many others.

Arrived well before due date, lovely condition, will enjoy reading it.

Fabulous book. A tremendous, inspiring story.
