Functional and fantastic looking backpack
I've been using this backpack for a few days now and so far I don't have any major complaints. TIme will obviously tell. I've been using shoulder bags for most of my adult life and while I do like them for meeting clients and/or an office setting, they're just not practical for travel and being out working on projects in the field. I started researching backpack, specifically roll top because I like the look and I like that they’re expandable to accommodate more gear. What I like about this backpack:1. Modern, sleek, sustainable, and durable design.2. Ample room for gear, clothes, and other necessities. Especially when rolled all the way up. Nice padded protective pockets for both a laptop and tablet, and slots for additional gear/tech.3. Water resistant materials and waterproofed front pocket and back access zippers.Expandable side pockets that can easily accommodate larger water bottles.4. Quick access back zipper for laptop/tablet pockets, luggage strap on back, and a nice key hook/strap inside front side pocket.5. Comfortable back padding and padded shoulder straps (no sternum strap, which I don’t mind) with three carabiner loops on each side.6. Price points that are much less than what companies like Timbuk2, Stubble&Co, and Wandrd are charging. My wishlist for Tomtoc:1. Side mount/compression straps to secure a longer umbrella, taller water bottle/thermos, and/or tripod would be nice. The backpack does have two top loops on both sides of bag that a carabiner paracord (which I was able to do, see above photo) or something like a Think Tank Photo Disguise Strap could be attached to.2. I would have liked the inner lining to be orange, bright yellow, or lime green for visibility when searching for things inside.3. I would have liked the bag to be a little larger at least aesthetically. I’m taller/larger (6’ 1” over 200lbs) so when not fully rolled up it looks a little small on me. Not an issue when the backpacks fully packed and rolled up (expands from 17 to 20L) though. However, I can see the size being a benefit when traveling by plane or when getting around in a city environment.4. Though not that big of a deal, waterproofing the top and front side zippers like the front pocket and back access ones would be a smart move going forward.5. Along with the carabiner loops, I wouldn’t mind seeing a D ring on one of the shoulder straps in the future. But, nothing that a carabiner paracord (see above photo) wouldn’t solve.I still rate this packback high despite it lacking a few things I would have liked it to have. These things weren’t deal breakers for me as most (listed above) have work arounds. However, from what I’ve seen it actually offers a few features the more expensive Timbuk2 roll top doesn’t.

Do it
Excellent. Wish it had more pockets and organization. The 25L version of perfect for a grown man. Another comment mentioned the 17L felt too small for him, and I can see what he meant. I bought this for travel, and although I haven't used it for its intended purpose, it fits a camera insert holding a mirrorless camera plus 3 lenses, a water bottle, and plenty of extra space (in the 25L configuration) for a jacket and snacks. I figured it can expand to accommodate any light shopping, or carrying extras for the missus and kids. Plus, the quality feels excellent. Zippers are high quality, the material feels thick and durable, and the stitching looks like it'll hold well. Time will tell, but I don't regret this purchase at all. Quite the contrary, I'm very pleased.

Price hurts but the bag is legit
I used a NF Borealias as a travel and EDC but I picked this up after the Borealis redesign left alot to be desired. This bag is .. magnificent. It's great. Get it, and sulk over the price for a day. But you will love this bag. It's comfortable, its compact, it travels well, TSA had no issues. Highly portable and easy to clean. It's casual and trendy. I wish it had more small/compartmented organized slots but that's not a deal breaker because it does have some.

Great for a personal item on flights
Great for travel and flights. Easy access to get my tablet out for TSA. Big enough to hold what I take for flights and fits under the seat to qualify for a personal item

Solid, but not perfect
Overall I’m happy with this, but I can’t help but find the capacity and versatility of this backpack a little lacking. It’s thick and durable, but that also hinders the ability for it to flex and expand as you pack stuff in it. I know roll tops are primarily known for having one main pouch, but I really wish the laptop compartment was separate from the main pocket. The easy access back zipper allowing access when the roll top is closed and buckled shut is fantastic.

The Best Daypack I've Ever Owned
This backpack is well built and sturdy with quality stitching and quality zippers, as I have come to expect from Tomtoc. I use it every day. The laptop sleeve holds my 16" laptop easily. I use it on international flights as my 7kg regulation carry-on personal item, now that most int'l flights are not allowing carry on luggage in economy. With compression bags, I can fit clothes and essentials enough for 1 night and 2 days of layovers.
