California's Best Fly Fishing: Premier Streams and Rivers from Northern California to the Eastern Sierra Paperback – Illustrated, December 15, 2009

This wa a gift for my son in law who want to resume some fishing. He was so excited about the book and really thought the content was useful.

I have started fishing in California again. I took a long hiatus - about 20 years - as i was able to fish Alaska regularly for many of those years and was spoiled. I played golf here and fished there. Business perks. The trips to Alaska have slowed and my golf game has not improved so going back to fly fishing California waters. This book is helpful in giving valuable 'local' insights to the most popular waters in NorCal. Well written. Nicely illustrated. Good value. I will have it as a reference for many years.

Very well layout with excellent understanding of these rivers. Makes you want to go for a drift.

This book reminded me how much great water is nearby. I have fished much of it, but plan to fish all the water. It's well written and does not lecture you, but informs you with some great info. It changed my fishing plans for this season. I can pick it up at any time and read a few pages and think about my next trip.

Beautiful pictures, and revealed a lot of top quality locations that I didn't previously know existed.

Definitive book for a non native Californian who generally feels that California has been able to destroy its best prizes. Most hunters I know hunt Montana, Colorado, Wyoming, etc. It is good to see that Rivers like the Lower Yuba have been regenerated after being trashed during the gold rush. Fabulous book that give this fisher hope for California fishing.

This book is OK if you want information about some of the best known and famous waters. I was disappointed in that I was hoping that there would be some information on the lesser known waters. I would not have purchased this book if I had known this fact. The pictures are nice if that is what you are into.
