The media could not be loaded. This is a beautiful hanging clothes rod. The instructions were not very clear nor precise so I’ll share my method of installation after I review it.If looks stunning once installed. The drop down handing rod for throws is a must and a pleasure to have. The build quality is excellent. Folding that drop down rod and locking it upwards is a plus so you can hand more clothes on hangers. The holes are perfectly spaced for air flow between clothes. It’s definitely space -saving since I wanted something that gave me the ability to hand dress clothes and sweaters without taking them outdoors nor putting them in the dryer. The clothing dries fast however that is dependent on the fabric and its weight. I love the independent cranking of each rod in one winch. I also love the gold color it came in.Instructions: I added blocking to my ceiling in the attic to make sure it would hold. I did not use their screws and anchors because I simply chose not to. I purchase my own brass screws and that was my choice. You can use their screws and anchors if you wish. For the parts that went into the ceiling, I suggest installing those and make sure you have them bolted into blocking or joists. Don’t rely on anchors and drywall to hold this up. Your clothing will add wet weight to the unit. Know that the pulley wheels can be turned, it’ll take a bit of force but they were made to turn to guide the cable smoothly. Thread the cable through the wheels, the decorative cover plates, and the winch stop guide where it will strike the added guide that rests on the wall about 2cm below the ceiling line. Make sure those cables to the winch are not obstructed by a door so place that stop guide carefully. Thread your hanger clips and secure them. Here’s where you may need an extra tool. They ask you to tie it off with the cable. I used crimp collars and the crimp tool I purchased separately to do that. I did this with both rods so they drop down at the same height. Keep in mind that one guide will be closer to the winch than the other so trimming the cables the exact same length will cause you to order extra cable. I didn’t have to but this is a warning not to. One pole will hang further back so don’t trim the cable until you are fully finished installing the rods. Thread your rod through the rod hangers and if it looks uneven, just go to the winch stop where it is threaded in a u-shape and adjust to level it out. No need to make it harder than it needs to be. Lift the rods all the way up via the winch and align the hangers with the cover plates, then secure with the screw to hold them in place.You can turn the pulley wheels just right to reduce the noise or friction of the cables as you lower and raise the rods. Do this before securing the decorative covers. You should be done.I installed the rod with the drop down rod closest to me. I spaced them about 25 inches apart and made sure I left enough space so my clothing wouldn’t brush against at the wall to avoid wear.I’ve recommended this kit to several friends that love to hang clothing to dry. It helps prevent wear and shrinkage of finer fabrics.My only cons were the way they wanted us to tie off the cable and I spent a little extra for crimp collars and the tool. No big deal since I preferred the collars.I use this every time I do laundry. I ordered the matching hangers with clips for skirts or pants and despite my husband thinking we didn’t need this, I found him capturing images to share with his co workers. I feel it was what was missing in my laundry room and I’m thankful it fit perfectly perfectly and stays out of the way when not in use as stated.But it if you have the space and see how it preserves your nicer clothing. You won’t regret it! I know I don’t!
