Kevin S. hit a homerun with this volume. There are a few problems with the mechanics (it takes an hour to generate a character) and the layout of the book is reversed compared to other books of the same type. This is probably the worst thing about the system. He puts his campaign before character generation and doesn't take the player on a step by step rout to quickly generate their character. You are forced to turn back and forth through the book in order to complete your character.But once you are done, it's bombs away! Rifts is the best campaign setting out today, and although there are other authors and story lines that top it, as a general setting nothing compares to it. Just be a good role player and negotiator and pray for a good GM because there will be some arguing! ...uh, I mean negotiations about specifics that the rules don't cover.This book is all you need to really get started and do a whole liteny of things! Plus, it's totally compatible with the other Palladium games like Turtles and Robotech.

Rifts literally has a system that can be converted if not used in itself for any genre or setting. The system is so universal and amazing that I don't play any other RPG. You want magic and high fantasy with dragons and valiant knights and wizards? Got it. Science fiction with space cruisers and combat? Space pirates and dinosaurs and robots and robot dinosaurs? Check. Hell you could even have a partial conversion cyborg that's a dinosaur that captains an outlaw space pirate vessel. Seriously. The core rulebook is all you really need. But if you get into it, they have a sea of source books on everything and anything you want. Tons of original content and fresh ideas that you would never even imagine. If you play tabletop rpgs and haven't played rifts, you are missing out on the greatest RPG ever made.

Product was as expected but a square chunk was missing out of the cover. I believe this was an overstock from a bookstore.

This book is the perfect game accessorie. Condition is remarkable and a good price. I will buy from this seller again.

The classic game gets a face lift, very nostalgic reading over this book! I love the artwork and imagination that went into this.
