Great for Crafting
These are great for the quilted ornaments, I'm going to try snowman ornaments and will let you know how that goes. I've made over 10 quilted ornaments with these and have had no problems to date, but then I do use a thimble to push the pins in. I like that they are stronger and sturdy as opposed to the ones I purchased at the local big box store. I notice some have written that it's hard to get pins into them, I would disagree. There is a hole in one end (I think another reviewer mentioned this as well) that goes in about a 1/4 of an inch, no problem for me as I work the fabric around them.

Cats Enjoy!
I bought these for my cats. I’m tired of moving furniture to get cat toy balls from under them. I decided to try these bigger styrofoam balls so the cats could bat them around and they would not disappear under the furniture. It worked great and they love playing with them. I may wrap a few of them in yarn for a different look. I look forward to buying more. Only negative comment would be it took quite a while to receive. USPS Snail mail.

No markings on balls.
Not exactly what I wanted as they have no equator marking, or top and bottom marking. But I will be able to use them for something! I use these for quilted ornaments and the markings are pretty important.

Probably Fine, (But Not For My Style of Ornament)
I make a lot of Christmas ornaments that involve me pushing over a hundred straight pins into each. Before these, I had used only the rougher, styrofoam balls. I thought these might be nicer since they are smooth. Also, it's nice to have the top, bottom and center clearly marked for placement of ribbons and decorations. However, I found it far harder to shove the pins into. My fingers got tired and sore very quickly. If you weren't sticking a million pins into them, they would be fine, I'm sure. But if you make the sort of ornaments I do, I wouldn't recommend them.

One styrofoam ball short of a six-pack!
While the quality is a little better than the packaging, I am disappointed that one of the two packages arrived open with one of the six smooth styrofoam balls missing, and not in the box! The other package had a couple of damaged balls, & one had a dent about the size of a quarter, but I think I can still work with them. FYI.

Great balls of foam!!
The wife is well pleased with the quality of these balls. They have a line around the center to make it easier for her to center her covering on the balls. They are a denser foam than what she has used in the past and a little harder to put straight pins in but still worth the extra effort. The only small issue she had with them is that there is a small hole on one axis like where you might insert a 1/4" dowel, nothing major, just a minor inconvenience.

Ok depending on your ne
If you are an avid crafter, you might want to pass on these particular styrofoam balls. I should've stuck with the ones I've been buying, but only needed five so opted for this product. The description said pin it, glue it, cut it, saw it, or sand it...well, sanding, sawing, and gluing are about the best you can hope for. Cutting them to shape them is impossible...they are hard and break quite easily...no give, no hope. Pinning was not much better. Each decorative ball I make requires over 200 pins. However, one out of 5 bent with hardly any applied pressure...not exactly cost effective. Thank goodness I only purchased 6 or I would be bandaging every finger I have.Bottom line: If you just want something to use glue on or to pull out that saw for or those sheets of sand paper you have lying around...knock yourself out. But me, personally, I will not be buying anymore.

Excellent quality but they do have a deep indentation on one end that I did not know would be there. Makes it hard to do quilted ornaments with that there. Also, they are very firm so that can be tough to get pins into. Otherwise, for any other project where that indentation wouldn't be a problem, I highly recommend these!
