Great value when on sale, older tech, but solid performance
Surprised to see some tough ratings on this. This is really a niche technical device. If you are needing to extend a signal outdoors, this is a fantastic option. You get good distance, good speed, and super simple setup.Distance:The easiest way to boost a signal outdoors is to eliminate walls. Being powered by POE and coming with everything you need to mount outdoors, and being weather sealed greatly increases your distance. The quality build and antennas also help get some more distance. I haven't tested this up to 150M, but at my max length of ~ 70M I still get good performance.Physical and Technical Design:The physical design of this is great. The body is smaller than a bottle of water and easy to mount anywhere. The technical design is good as well. Scan a QR code inside, or connect and go to waplogin.link, follow a couple prompts, and your up and running. No apps or other bloatware. Just login and get running.Speed:This is a much better performer than the N300 which I have also used. My max speeds for home internet are 100down/35up, and I get this when the 2.4g/5g dual band mode is enabled. If 5g is disabled and only running at 2.4g, I was only getting ~27down and 17up. This is similar performance to the Wavlink N300 which is 2.4g only.Whether you are extending your wifi to connect cameras, fill in dead spots in your backyard, or anything in between, this is a solid contender. It's speed performance is fair, but also very stable. Deployment is as easy as it gets.If you are trying to stream 4k TV 100+m away, I'm not sure I would trust this would hold up (though I haven't tested), but for basic phone or camera use it is great.Lastly, is it worth it for the price? I think this is a great value between $50 and $65. You can often find this on sale, so I am NOT taking the "retail price" into account with this rating.

Based on price and use, this can be a great deal.
I got this to extend my wifi signal to the pool deck outside for streaming music and surfing the web. I needed a weatherproof enclosure and 5G coverage. Power over Ethernet (PoE) is nice but optional since I planned to run it as a repeater. As other reviewers have noted, this unit uses older wireless and ethernet technology, and limited on speed in both cases. But since I'm not looking to stream 4K content around the pool, this isn't a drawback for me.Installation is a breeze, as is set up, and I now have strong 5G wifi all over the deck around the pool area. It even reaches into the RV parked nearby, which is nice, since I'll occasionally set up my office in there to get away from the cats.If you are looking to stream 4k video, then you might want to look at a different unit. But for music, browsing, and most of my normal workload, it works perfectly.

Strong signal with fast speed and a protective shell. It works seamlessly without effort.
The Outdoor Wi-Fi Extender by Wavlink, is an easy way to extend your internet to your beautiful yard with an easy and effective tool. Here are some of the things I’ve learned while owning it and things to consider before buying.I. Quality – It seems to be made tough enough to handle the elements outside, with a thick plastic shell that should be durable. It also appears to be solidly built with rubber seals to keep the moisture out.II. Set-up – Make sure you connect to the extenders Wi-Fi signal before going to what seems like the website. This is how you configure it to get on your existing Wi-Fi signal. The included wires for power are far too short for an outside installation, but I was able to make it work.III. Performance – After set-up its working great without issues. It connects fast and provides a level of speed that makes it unnoticeable. The signal is strong and goes far. This has really been a great choice to extend my signal far into the yard.Overall, I have really enjoyed using this extender. With great performance its exceeded my expectations and left me very happy. I’ll be sure to update this review, if I ever start to have problems with it.You can trust that this review is simply my honest opinion that is attempting to provide you with helpful insight that I wish I had before I picked this product. Hopefully it was helpful in your decision.

Not A Good Choice: 100 megabit ethernet instead of gigabit, WPA2 not WPA3, old design.
Unfortunately I can't recommend this unit. At this writing, I see three other outdoor routers sold here which are similar in price and way better in features. I'm sure there will be more soon.* This is an AC600, the other units are AC1200 and at least twice as fast.* This unit is limited by its ethernet speed of 100 megabits per second, the others provide 1 gigabit per second. If you use ethernet, it doesn't matter if the WiFi speed is faster, the overall speed will be limited by the ethernet speed.* This unit provides WEP2 security, which is weak today. The others provide WEP3, which is stronger.* This unit doesn't ground itself through the ethernet cable shield, the others do.* This unit is an old design. That's why it is missing all of those features. The others are newer designs. This old design was updated to use standard-compliant PoE, but nothing else was updated. Wavelink has two older, slower N300 units that may still meet the lowest price point available in the market for an outdoor router, even if they are relatively poor performers. This unit, unfortunately, costs more and isn't any faster than those N300 units if you use the 100 megabit per second ethernet interface. It might be faster if you use it as a WiFi repeater. But it's still half the speed of similarly-priced units. If they can't offer deep discounts at a profit, it's time for Wavelink to retire this design.

Excellent extender - 200-300 foot range through rhododendrons
This outdoor AC adapter is great for covering a moderate area. It's not as high powered as some of the other Wavlink models, but it's also less expensive.I tested it through the woods including about 40 feet of thick rhododendron plants, and was able to get a usable but weak signal all the way out to 300 feet or so. That's impressive for such an inexpensive device.I really like Wavlink stuff - it's well made, easy to set up, and reliable.
