Fundamentals of Management: Essential Concepts and Applications 8th Edition

This book did not really add any value to my studies on the topic of management or business in general. I've read leadership books, economic books, organisational behaviour books, etc that covered in more depth the topics of this book. This book really takes the definition of management in a broad sense and includes many topics other authors (and I) consider to be leadership, not management, topics. It's written at a very easy to read level however. Having read the book there is not one specific audience I would recommend it to. It is definitely not a focused or in-depth study and only grazes the surface of topics. Therefore it is not enough for anyone looking to implement any serious behaviour or management practices. It would only be good for someone wanting the basics in overview/summary form. Even for that need, there are other books I would recommend first. While this book technically is a textbook I would say it is very close to being a book for lay people interested in management or maybe for employees thinking of applying for some management roles. The MyManagementLab software/website is of even worse value. The simulations are written for high school level at best. The answers to them are at times overly obvious and really do not aid in the learning process. If you buy the book, go for a version without the website. You are not missing out the website and saving yourself money (a $40 value if purchased alone).

I am taking an Entrepreneur class, and was assigned this book. The content is good, and does a great job of providing accurate, helpful information. However, there is so many spelling error, weird ones with extra hyphens in words that really don't need them. I'm in the U.S., and checked the publishing location; maybe it's from the U.K. - I know we spell some words differently than the Brits. Nope, published in the USA. And the authors were even American. It makes me wonder who copy edited this; they shouldn't have been paid. Otherwise good book, but errors are an eyesore.

In order to use this access card, your school professor needs to supply you with a course ID. If your professor isn't enrolled with Pearson for a course ID (because the online access isn't required), this access card is useless! You can't register this access card without a course ID. This access card does not allow you to study on your own!!!! Pearson told me that the American version of MyManagementlab is not available for studying on your own! It is only available in the global edition. SO, unless your instructor has a course ID or they require the access card DON"T buy it. Also, since I opened the tab, I can't return the access card. So I spent my money on NOTHING!! This people are making a killing on selling these access cards that are useless!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Son used it

This is an excellent book for people trying to understand the various methods of managing all types of cultures. It gives techniques and help understanding why certain management styles are more effective. Also, the spiral biding compliments the books use and ease of handling when reading.

Just what I needed for my class!

The text is awesome. However the Pearson website no longer accepts/supports this book for the Management Lab. Bought the book at a higher price to use the access code within and Pearson states it no longer uses this edition. :(

I purchased this book for use in my Business Management Degree where I am in first year. Our lecturer uses this book so it is quite handy to have the same one as him and it is a very informative book. Only slight complaint is that the pages are like really thin, I mean like almost newspaper thin, so you have to watch you don't rip pages.Is doing the job though and will hopefully get me through this module, recommend!

The book is an illegal copy, it was shipped from India to me and it was very expensive. Somebody found a way to make money this way...
