Pouch quality.
The pouches do give you a good boost to keep you going, I’m just struggling with them because the pouches keep splitting within 2 mins of places under gum, which causes me to remove them prematurely. So I can’t get my full hit of caffeine.

Horrible taste, horrible texture, poor value.
As someone who reguarly works nightshifts, and has to balance daytime nights with daytime functioning on the weekend, my sleep schedule is beyond scuffed. I'm always looking for effective caffeine products, and this isn't it...The taste is horrible. Incredibly overpowering, and less "mint" more just "spicy". The pouches themselves have a horrible texture. They're not dissolvable or anything, and you've gotta spit them back out.Price isn't that good - £20 for 45. Gum is generally a better alterative, and leads to a better experience as you don't focus on it like these pouches. I'd avoid these ones. They do work, and the caffeine is noticable, but other products are much better.

Stopped me falling asleep sat up on my first ever night shift
I was a bit dubious about this product at first so it’s taken quite a while for me to try them. I got my chance recently as I have started a new job which involves 24/7 shifts and during my first night shift I was desperately fighting sleep, a couple of hours before my shift was due to finish. I remembered I had these pouches awaiting review so decided to pop one and see what happened.Initially I found the circular container a bit hard to open before finally working it out. I only discovered how to do it due to another reviewer saying they had the same issue and explaining how to open it. Once in, I popped one under my upper lip and waited. It’s very cool and minty and there was an almost burning like sensation (not proper burning, just that minty strong-mint like burn). Each pouch has 80mg of caffeine in it. I’ve just googled how much a teaspoon of coffee has and it has 60-80 so this is roughly on a par. However this is far more convenient meaning you can start it straightaway, it’s far more portable and no need to wait for it to cool down before being able to start it. I can see why they are marketed at long distance runners. The manufacturers recommend only three pouches to be used per day however.Did it work? Yes, I think it did. I didn’t fall asleep sat up like my body had been threatening would happen and it did definitely make me feel more alert. However it could have been a placebo affect. I was pleased that it didn’t have any adverse effects on my actually going to sleep once my shift started. I will definitely give these a try should I need to on my next night shift.

Not great, tastes overpowering at first, but doesn’t last then the bitterness of Caffeine takes over
The 45 pouches arrived in three separate plastic tubs that were placed into a sealed plastic pouch. Each of the tubs has a section in the top intended for storing the used pouches, which I'm pretty sure will catch everyone by surprise when they open it expecting to see the pouches, and it’s empty. You open the main compartment by twisting the top and bottom apart and that breaks the sealed label on the side and lets you into the contents. Though BELTER has left that entirely up to the customer to figure out, there are no markings on the labels to help you figure it out, which is unusual. It’s also potentially frustrating for someone who may not have encountered a similar type of packaging before, it’d be as easy as adding a simple arrow and ‘twist to unlock’ to make things more approachable.BELTER has tried their best to load these up with enough artificial sweeteners and flavourings to offset the inevitable bitter taste that comes from Caffeine. Despite that, there is still a very notable bitter aspect to the flavour once the initial blast of flavouring disappears which is maybe five minutes if I'm being generous, then you get subtle hints of the initial flavour for the rest of the time. The initial strength of the sweeteners and the flavouring is honestly worse than the bitterness of the caffeine for me personally, they’re flavoured enough that it can be surprising and somewhat uncomfortable at first if you aren’t expecting it. This is true for both flavours I've tried, which are the Fresh Mint and Citrus Tang versions, though I do find the mint one to be the most appealing if I had to choose one of the two. There might be some justifiable appeal here for people trying to wean themselves off nicotine-containing pouches or smokeless tobacco but for the average person who just wants a caffeine hit I can’t really see the point of this over more convenient, affordable and the other more effective and far tastier methods of getting caffeine.Ultimately this isn’t for me, it just feels like one of those random things you’d buy from a petrol station on a whim for far too much money, just to be thoroughly unimpressed.
