Great piece of furnsture but check the screws before you begin.
I bought this item for my 13 year old to use as a desk in his bed room. We chose it together. Its a stylish piece of furniture. Its very space saving due to the fold down desk. when its up in position its very sturdy. Its great that it has storage space too.Constructing the unit is pretty straight forward. You could do it on your own but two people makes it easier. The instructions are a set of clear diagrams that are easy to follow and each item is either numbered or lettered. I did have a problem with the screws. We had screws labelled incorrectly which led to some damage to the desk top. One size of screw was missing all together. That was the only downside to this. The unit is great and my son loves it and uses it everyday.I would recommend this item to any one. Its stylish and practical.

Compact desk with large depth.
Lovely compact desk, sturdy but with a particularly good depth (58cm, more than most desks on amazon!) plenty of room for monitor, keyboard and enough space for notepad etc.Clean looking finish and saves loads of space when folded away. I have a 24inch monitor via an extendable arm attached to the right most of corner of the desk, and the desk remains solid and looks great. (Although, the desk stays 'open' at all times in our home).

Very happy with the desk!!!
Very happy with the desk – it is not the cheapest desk around, but having looked at a few I can confidently say, worth every penny. When I ordered this desk I assumed that it would take quite a while to assemble but I was pleasantly surprised. The easy to follow instruction helped me to assemble the desk quickly and all parts are clearly labelled in an efficient and organised way. I’m not particularly DIY proficient but I had this desk assembled and in place in well under an hour.It is made of the highest quality bent wood (in a nice dark shade) and black steel which complement each other perfectly. Note that the joints on steel parts are not polished out and made invisible, as it is the case in many contemporary units. It looks like these were simply welded together and covered in high quality paint – this is by no means a bad point. I think it makes it look a little bit traditional or “retro”, and certainly adds to the overall positive feel of the desk. The tinted glass on top and on the keyboard drawer also looks very classy. In terms of space – it has just the right amount. I have a monitor and a standard A4 printer in one corner and there is plenty of room left to work comfortably. I work from home and it is more than adequate for the job.The last point is the cable management system – in a way it is great as it can really hide all cables and remove all the usual clutter when you use several devices. On the other hand however, because of its positioning, it means that the desk will have to be pushed against a wall – you would not be able to us e it as a “room facing” desk. It is not a problem or a negative for me, but it may be important to others.Overall very impressed with the purchase.

Well worth the money
I wanted a large desk with a keyboard tray large enough to use a gaming mouse mat and was very pleased with my purchase, the keyboard tray is about 790mm by320mm with plenty of space between the glass of the desk and the tray itself.Looks very good, would be happy to have this in the lounge as piece of furniture.Very easy to assemble, all the parts are clearly marked and the instructions are very clear.Only downside was Amazon chose Hermes for delivery so naturally a day off was wasted, with no indication of when it would be eventually delivered, ordered it again for next day and this time got DPD so all good.

Well designed, easy to build
As the heading, the whole design (design for ease of build AND how it looks) was quite excellent. I took off one star because the vinyl-like cover was damaged on one side panel. This was at the back of the unit, and in my case not visible where the desk was situated. It did not seem like this was damaged in transit so maybe better quality control would help? Beginner flat-pack assemblers should be able to cope if the steps are carefully followed. The experienced assemblers (like me) would have no trouble at all.

Gorgeous desk !!!
This is a really lovely piece of furniture, very well made and a joy to assemble. Normally I despise putting flat packed furniture together but in this case the instructions are extremely clear and all the parts are clearly labelled in individual plastic pockets.Construction on my own took less than an hour. The wood is of high quality though I did have to drill my own pilot holes (x2) to attach the support brackets. The only negative factor is the amount of polystyrene used in the packaging of the desk.......Polystyrene hell ! An still finding bits of the stuff 3 days later.Overall am extremely happy with my purchase.

Perfect!
Delivery of the desk was scheduled earlier than the date suggested when I placed the order (which is a good thing). The packaging was good, all the parts were present, undamaged and clearly labelled.Assembly was a dream as everything lined-up correctly and all of the bolt threads were cut properly.I'm very happy with my purchase, it looks even better in situ than it does in photographs.

A good looking solid desk
Received the package earlier than expected so I was able to assemble the table in good time over the weekend. Assembly was straight forward and took less than an hour. Once assembled the table looks as good as the published pictures on Amazon. It is a good looking solid piece of furniture and should last for years, would recommend it if you are thinking of buying one.

Manufacturers take notes, Bell'O did it right.
I work from home as a software manager, which means the quality of components that surround my desk (including the desk) are pretty important to me. When building out my new home office, I spent hours researching and trying different computer desks. What became blatantly obvious is that a lot of what's available is flimsy junk. I was moments away from purchasing a $600 studio quality audio engineer workstation and converting to home use, when I found this Bell'O CD8841. The reviews and price looked too good to be true, but with the assurance of Amazon's satisfaction return policy I took the plunge.I'm happy I did because this desk is fantastic. The glass has a dark, "tinted" appearance that not only looks professional but doubles as blocking out all of the wires running behind or under the desk. The wood arches that are provided have a high quality finish to them which accents everything nicely.Perhaps the best (and relatively simple) feature of this desk is the strength and width of the keyboard tray. Measuring 32" at the rails, the tray comfortably fits my full sized gaming keyboard and mouse with room to spare. If you are looking for a quality computer desk and don't mind some assembly (took me 45 minutes, but I took my time), grab one of these from Bell'O.

Most of the assembly is fairly easy (easily a 1 person job
Desk isn't as deep as the product description (or even the box it comes in) says. It's supposed to be 24" deep, its only 22" at the deepest (and a bit less at the edges since the front edge is somewhat curved). The design appears very sleek and modern at a glance, but after actually going through the assembly it isn't as well designed or fabricated as could be expected. The parts align poorly - the keyboard tray won't fully extend or retract due to the arms supporting it being slightly misaligned, regardless of any effort to adjust them during assembly. The glass desktop is secured poorly, basically just sitting on a few pads spaced along the front edge (2 of them small, badly deformed suction cups that won't do a thing to hold the top in place). The back edge is screwed in with 2 small screws, but these only go into a small piece that is seemingly glued to the lower surface of the desktop and nothing actually goes through the glass, with a couple more pads to help support the back edge. So basically the entire glass desktop is resting on 7 small points of contact. Similarly, the glass surface for the keyboard tray just rests on 6 miniature rubber dots. Most of the assembly is fairly easy (easily a 1 person job, though the instructions recommend 2) but there is a small part that should have been done better. Most of the places where something is screwed into the wood it uses a sleeve nut of some sort embedded in the wood, but at the point where the wooden piece and the metal leg of the desk intersect they depart from this design and leave you to screw a small wood screw directly into the wood. It's not pre-drilled at all, the screw isn't self tapping in the slightest. It's not overly hard to do if you have a regular philips screwdriver (good luck doing it with only the combo philips/hex key included with the desk which gets you through every single other step of the assembly) but the design here could still have been improved upon. Now using the desk, the main thing I'm noticing is the lack of depth. The desktop space is shallower than advertised, causing the under-desk space to also be rather shallow. Even sitting at something of a distance from the desktop, using the keyboard tray at full extension, I still constantly kick the back panel of the desk. Also, just as a side note, make sure you have a way to dispose of a massive amount of styrofoam if you're getting this. Luckily the packaging included a large plastic bag that could be used to collect all of it, but you're looking at filling roughly a 55 gallon bag with styrofoam that you'll need to dispose of afterward. It doesn't make too much of a mess as long as you're careful unpacking (you'll want to have a vacuum handy though), but there is still just a massive amount of the stuff.

AWESOME PRODUCT WILL EXCEED YOUR EXPECTATIONS TOO!
After starting a major remodeling project in my home I decided that the hutch-style wood computer desk looked dated and needed replacing. I was looking for something with a glass top and stylish clean lines for a light and breezy look in the master bedroom. This looked like the perfect size, not too big and not too small, just the perfect size. The unusually high reviews for it sealed the deal for me so I ordered it. When it arrived two days later I found it to be packaged in an extremely well insulated and sealed box. I was immediately impressed by the high quality finish of the powder-coat metal parts. The glass parts were top quality tempered and tinted glass with smooth curved corners. I was happy to find that the tinting was not a smoke colored tint or a dark black, but instead just the right amount of tint to give a professional appearance. This design, fabrication, and packaging of this desk were well thought-out and executed, and the instructions were easy to follow. It took me about 30 minutes to put it together. Now, it has exceeded my expectations and looks absolutely awesome in my bedroom. Love it!

Beautiful desk, I bought it twice, the first one was for me and the second is for my wife.
The desk is beautiful. The purchase was not fulfilled by Amazon and it took a week for it to arrive. After unpacking and getting all the little Styrofoam particles off me, the floor and pieces, the desk assembled easily in about 25 minutes with another 20 minutes cleanup. When you open the packaging, little Styrofoam particles go everywhere. On the second one my wife was standing by with the vacuum and it saved about 15 minutes of cleanup. I threw away the Allen Wrench that came with it and used a small hex ratchet (saved many minutes). Everything fit wonderfully with one exception they do not have pre-drilled holes for the screw that goes into the wood (one per wood slat). Getting the screw to start was time consuming as the screws provided were not the best self-tapping wood screws. Before you put the keyboard tray together, I recommend taking a tiny - tiny bit of Vaseline jelly or graphite lube to coat the bearings otherwise the keyboard tray will squeak when sliding it in or out. The metal pieces are painted with a heavy enamel that is very scratch and chip resistant and all the pieces fit together nicely. Once assembled, the desk is beautiful. On mine I have my 36 inch desk buster monitor, it fits nicely. My sound bar is hidden up under the glass top, suspended across the rear brackets for the keyboard tray. The keyboard tray is so wide both my wife and I have our 14x10 drawing tablets and keyboards with plenty of room on the tray.

2nd one Purchased; Absolutely LOVE-IT!!!!!!!!!
I LOVE MY NEW COMPUTER DESK!!!!! This is the 2nd one I Purchased; 1st one still works well just needed another computer desk. This Bello Desk is well Engineered and Sturdy with a big Key-Board-Tray so as to utilize your mouse beside your Key-Board. Easy to assemble after . . . Product was Delivered in a Timely manner with a little Damage to the Shipping Carton during Shipment (UPS); Item is Bulky and Heavy to move around so I can understand. I was very impressed after removing all the parts that NOTHING inside the Shipping Carton was Damaged. BE PREPARED!!!!! It took Longer to remove all the Parts than it did to assemble the Desk. Do yourself a favor, have a vacuum handy as there is an insane amount of Styrofoam Packing Materials that sticks to everything . . . even the Parts need to be vacuumed. Luck or engineering would have-it that a Large Plastic Bag is within the Carton protecting the Parts allowing you to stuff all the Styrofoam into this Bag for disposal. All the Metal Screws worked fine during assembly but don't try to utilize the Phillips Head Tool for the two (2) Wood Screws . . . get a Variable Speed Drill or you will regret-it.

keyboard tray issues
i would like to change this review to a higher number but for the time being i can't. when i originally set this up everything was going well until i got to installing the keyboard tray. everything was screwed in properly but the keyboard tray does not slide in or out evenly. one side would be going in first and then the other side would go in after. 50% when im pulling it out or pushing it back in it gets jammed up and i have to manuever it a little bit before it would properly work. also when i push it back all the way in the right side of the tray sticks out and does not go all the way in unless i manuever it in as well. i was very frustrated seeing then when i had taken all this time to get it setup and it's defective in a way. i will be contacting them for some parts if possible if not through this review which would be much appreciated.also the tray main holders that i screw onto the main frame seem fine but im wondering if one of the pieces of metal is bent or warped in a way but i don't know. i was just expecting it to work. If i can get some working parts i would give this a 5 star easily. everything else about the desk is awesome. nice looking and plenty of space on the top for my 24 inch asus monitor and decently sized klipsch promedia 2.1 satellite speakers.

Nice looking solid feeling desk.
Assembled well. A star taken away because one of the supplied screws was physically deformed and could not be used. Luckily it arrived with no other defects/damage. Like others noted, the keyboard tray was nice but I’m suspicious about the tray holder mechanism lasting, seems sticky when sliding.Overall a nice desk for the money. A suggestion while assembling is to not tighten the screws until all the subassembly screws are in place. Then align and tighten the screws as a group before the next step/piece subassembly. Doing that makes the process easier. Also the packing material is messy when it breaks apart.

... this desk for a short while but I really like it. Having put together some new furniture recently ...
I've only had this desk for a short while but I really like it. Having put together some new furniture recently (still moving into my house), I found this piece one of the easier and enjoyable to assemble. It looks nice and feels sturdy. My only complaints are 1) there was a lot of styrofoam in the packing which made for a messy assemble/clean up. But I think I'm also thankful it was there because the box was horribly mistreated during delivery and yet everything was fine when I opened it up. 2) Its a little short. My office chair does not make it under the desk at its normal height so I had to prop the desk up a bit to make that work. The height from floor to tray is about 24.5".

Worth the price
I love this desk so much I invested in 2 of them. One for me and the other one is for my kids. I needed an extra desk since I'm now working from home and no other desk quite measured up to this one. I love the sliding glass underneath for the keyboard and mouse. I love the large workspace it gives you. It's very sturdy, is all glass and has a great look as well. Not hard to assemble. It took my husband 20-30 mins to put it together. It's a little pricey but it's definitely worth it once you see the finish product.

It's a Beautiful Thing!
Pluses for this computer desk are elegant design, easy assembly (2-1/2 hours from opening the box to using the desk), rugged structure, cable trace from floor to desktop to provide for convenient and unobtrusive feeding of 19 power & data cables. The only minuses are squeaky and slightly sticky glides for the keyboard tray. After another week or so of break-in, I will give the bearings in the tray glides a little shot of a dry lubricant, also available from Amazon. In balance, this is by far the best of the 5 computer desks I've purchased since the mid-1980s and is one I highly recommend.

Easy to assemble and solid. Nice.
Overall easy to put together and solid. Love the fact that the keyboard tray is glass. The trays bearing system does seem like it will be a problem down the road so take care, Be easy and mindful when sliding and you'll be golden. All desk have this problem from my experience. At the price point no complaints. Really nice desk.
