Good quality and great for sensitive skin
I haven't used an electric razor in over 30 years. But using a blade has always been so rough on my skin, specifically my neck. The cost of them is another negative. Recently I think I got a bad batch of Gillette's from Sam's and it's made me question my shaving routine. I started looking at electric razors and comparing costs, reviews, benefits, etc. I saw this one was listed on one review site as being the best for sensitive skin. Say no more. I love how fast it charges and how long the charge lasts. I recently charged it and I'm on day 5 and still have 70% battery life left. That's using it an average of 5 minutes at a clip. What's nice is if my wife is in the shower, I can grab it and shave in the bedroom. No worries about messy shave cream or splashing water everywhere haha. It is a bit noisy, but you get used to it rather quickly. Does it shave as close as a blade razor, no. But does it do a really nice job, yes. I purchased some Lectric Shave and it does help the razor glide smoother across the skin. I have noticed a few times where I must have missed a hair here or there and it's a little long, but other than that it's been a pretty good transition from blade to electric. Not cheap, but also not as pricey as some other models with comparable reviews and features. One thing I really love is how easy it is to clean. Hold the power button for 5 seconds and it goes into a cleaning mode. Put a little hand soap on the foil and it does it's thing. Pop off the top and rinse it out. Done. No oiling or using brushes to clean out small crevices. Obviously it is water safe, so you can use it wet or dry, which is good if you're in a hurry and use it in the shower. Definitely give your skin some time to get used to it. It is a different experience from blade shaving. I have not had a single nick since using this for just about a month now. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking to get out of the blade razor rip-off.

Cuts like a Japanese blade! No gimmicks!
Ok so I had to write a review of this as soon as I got done shaving with it for the first time.I came from a 5 year old Braun series 7 and I thought anything else would be subpar. I was wrong. It is only now after my Brauns battery kicked the bucket that I’ve seen the light. And I’m so glad I didn’t fall for the series 9 outrageous pricing.Much like German cars, their razors exude elegance and performance for the first 3 years of their life and then fall flat. So what would a Japanese razor do?Well if the first impression is anything I’d say exactly what their cars do. Efficient and reliable. This ARC5 claims “Japanese blade technology” and I’m starting to believe it.First of all, at first I didn’t even know if the thing was on. It’s not super quiet but it’s quieter than the Braun and has a clean motor sound. The first stroke on a 2 day old stubble left a smooth and completely non irritated patch of skin. I was blown away that I didn’t have to stab myself with the head and make 10 passes to achieve the same result with the braun. After 3 minutes I had a closer shave than ever before and zero redness. And I know it was 3 minutes because the thing actually tells you how long it was on for. I think that’s great to see if you’re spending more time than usual to get the same shave and may let you know you need to clean or replace the head. Compare this to the 7-10 minutes I had to spend to get the same result on my Braun. And again that is a 2 day old stubble. I shave every other day.The trimmer is a great addition and it doesn’t fold down when you try to make a pass up the sideburns. I also love how easy it is to clean. Everything is exposed and mostly flat so there’s very little area for clippings to get stuck in. The cleaning vibration mode is awesome too. This is still day 1 so I might just be honeymooning it too hard but time will tell. I’ll keep this review updated. For now, at this price point, don’t skip on it.

Excellent shaver, but overpriced.
My Panasonic shaver from a decade ago started acting up (I probably just wore it out), and I recall it cost somewhere around $60. This one was over $150. I am not seeing the value proposition in this product, as it really isn't much different except for some slightly improved electrical technology and a larger cutting head. But aside from that, it's the best shaver I've ever owned. It trims away my "scruff" with minimal effort and at a much faster pace than the old one, thanks to the additional cutting blades. I don't look forward to replacing the cutters and foils (they are also very expensive) and I'll be curious to see if they last the entire year as advertised. But again, the results so far have been very good.
