Works well with ossc
It works well for converting composite and svideo into either component or scart. I used it for my ossc and it works well. Mine came with a short scart to scart cable of suprisingly good quality. This helps to convert the audio aswell, with just the ossc you need external audio, but this bitfunx converter uses the scart to convert audio which the ossc can output through the hdmi. I wouldnt buy this with the idea thatll it upscale your games like a retrotink or ossc. Although you cant output hdmi this converter does linedouble and “smooths” it which comes out far better than those cheap square composite to hdmi converters.

Works well, no issues
The item works perfectly with no issues. My only gripe is that I wish the USB power cord was a foot or two longer. It's rather short and I'm only barely able to connect it.

Warning! Line double does not work! Not a current product!
You will not find this on the current Bitfunx website. It seems like they've discontinued it, maybe because it doesn't work like it's supposed to? The line doubler produces tearing, jagged images, even though I know I'm using component cables that can transmit 1080p signals. I tried flashing it to the latest ROM, that didn't help. You will notice there's another more expensive version of this being sold. Maybe that's the one that actually works!

Nice for consoles without component or scart
This device works great. I paired it with a Bitfunx OSSC I purchased elsewhere, and all of the problems I face are user error. It wouldn't consider the setup beginner friendly, but it's not difficult to manage, especially if you know how to operate an OSSC. It's been perfect for my 3DO, which only has composite and S-Video.

This works great for converting my PSOne’s SCART output to component.
If you’re into retro gaming then you’ll know that SCART gives the best picture output from a PSOne/PSX, without modding them to output HDMI (not for the faint of heart). However good luck finding any switching accessory in the USA that has a SCART input. We do have component inputs though. This module appears to be a clone of the RetroTink SCART to Component converter, and it works fantastic. Pretty much lag-free as far as I can tell, just like the amazing piece of hardware it was influenced by. It’s plug and play.I run component inputs from my PSOne, PS2, and Wii into a component switch box, that then feeds a McBazel ODV GBS-C upscaler, which outputs HDMI to my home theater receiver. And the picture looks awesome from my PSOne via SCART and this converter, especially when scanlines are added via the GBS-C. It’s like having a 61” LED CRT.Also, the USB power cable is unnecessary if you’re using SCART, since the SCART cable provides power to the unit. You only need external USB power if you’re using the VGA input, which I haven’t tried yet. For a SCART converter it works very well though, and that’s what I needed it for.I couldn’t use the SCART input on the GBS-C because I would have to unplug the component cable every time I wanted to use the SCART input, and vice-versa. They don’t play well together if you leave both plugged in.This way I just have to push a button on the switcher to switch between all three consoles. Works great.

Worked well with composite and S-Video game consoles. Smoothing option reduces pixellated look.
I got this converter board to connect old retro game systems to newer monitors and digitizers. Combined with a component-to-HDMI converter it works pretty well. This basically updates my older systems with a more modern, standard format so they can be connected to more devices.I combined this with a component to HDMI converter to display on my monitors or feed into my digitizer to capture images. I've tried composite/S-Video to HDMI converters but they give poor images and don't handle a game console's non-standard progressive format, treating it as interlace. The 2x line doubling solves this problem. There's no interlaced issues as with other video converters, and latency seemed pretty low playing many games (NES and SNES). Smoothing option was actually decent, making it look somewhat more like on a TV where pixels aren't crisp either. No "hanging dots" arfitacts with composite video. Displayed on a strobed LCD monitor motion was very smooth just like on a TV.Options were simple to set. Unit remembers settings when powered off. There are just four things to change: composite/S-video input, 1x (interlaced)/2x (line-doubled), smoothing on/off, and SCART (RGB)/component out.The only minor issues I had was a few second pause when furst turning on console, while it adjusted to video, and some slight ringing on edges of objects with lots of contrast.Pictures are from SNES and NES games. One of the latter shows how the rich texture composite video gives to the picture is preserved.

Good VGA converter for the Dreamcast
It converts a Dreamcast scart or VGA signal to a component signal to be fed into a scaler or fed into a component input on a CRT or older LCD tv. I didn't find the need to adjust the RGB color dials and the output was a crisp 480p. I have a MODE which forces all my games to 480p and that feeds into the component converter which feeds into my retrotink 5x. It's not the most elegant solution but playing Sonic Adventure on my 4k tv is great. It's a good product that does what it says it will do BUT this manufacturer sells their products on another website at a fraction of the cost here. I get the feeling they're dumping their inventory of this product because it's either not selling well or they're creating a newer model soon. The same company creates a cable that does the same thing as this device for the Dreamcast for roughly the same price.
