Not great quality
I really wanted to live this product. In fact, when I used it the first time I thought it was soo neat. Although, the second time the tube cracked on me halfway thru making churros. I pulled out the pastry bag to use it and it split open too.

Made good churros, easy to use, no cleaning brush, dough not evenly pushed through tube
I’ve never had fresh, hot churros before, but I love churros. I got this thinking you needed a specialized device for creating them, but after using it, you could also use a piping bag and tip, it’s just not quite as easy. With this device, you can figure out how many times you pull the handle (or number of clicks) for each churro, and they’ll all be exactly the same length, which is great. Until the end. There’s dough smeared down one side of the inside of the barrel. I’m assuming it’s because the plunger is hard rubber instead of something soft that can press against the sides while pressing out the dough. I had to use a thin spatula to scrape it out to reload again so I could use as much of the dough as possible, but there’s always some left in the tube at the end. I did download their e-book, which was super helpful, and I used the recipe in it. I had no problems loading it, and I’d recommend using a sharp knife to cut the dough off the end when you want it to release. I tried scissors first, and it just made a mess of everything, including the scissors. The nice thing is if you mess up, you can just scrape up the dough and reload it. You can’t get all the dough into the barrel with the first load. Mine took 2 loads. The benefit to using a piping bag is that you can use a really big one that won’t require reloading. This does include a reusable piping bag, eclair tip, and coupler for filling the churros if you want. You’d have to have additional piping tips if you wanted to use the bag to just pipe the churros as well. I personally don’t like reusable piping bags as it’s hard to get the squeaky clean, especially when using a dough with raw eggs. The batter ends up in all kinds of places in the dispenser, and I didn’t get the cleaning brush advertised. The barrel can go in the dishwasher, but it’s the easiest part to clean. If you don’t use piping bags and tips normally, this is a good solution for making churros. I’m glad I tried it, but I’ll probably just try piping them myself next time.I would recommend freezing them for at least an hour before frying. This helps the ridges stay in place. You may need to add an additional minute per side when frying. You can freeze any of them uncooked, and fry them straight from the freezer. I made mine in the morning, and put them in the freezer for probably 6 hours before frying them. I just cut the number I wanted, directly from the parchment paper, and slid them in the hot oil still on the paper. The paper releases from the churro within 30 seconds, and you can just remove them with tongs while the churros finish frying.
