I wanted to write a review for someone like me just looking for a simple bottle cutter to start out. I just got it today and it was incredibly easy to set up. I scored 4 brown beer bottles, boiled some water in a tea kettle for pouring the hot and cold as you’ll see in directions and it was so easy. I did it over a sink sort of low so the top wouldn’t shatter when it fell and it was perfect. One beer bottle took two rounds of pounding hot and cold and one took 5. Perfect straight cuts. Very excited to use it more!

I bought this to make homemade glasses as a hobby. It works very well, only flaw is that I wish it was easier to adjust the guides and blades. You have to unscrew and screw it back in each time. If it was made as a slide and easier to adjust I would have given it 5 stars.

It has everything you need, but it is very difficult to get a clean cut on wine bottles. I am sure if you did a few hundred you would get much better. We did about 50 of them and several we just threw out because it would take so much filing to get a clean cut. It was hours of filing and sanding. a few came out better. The bands just do not work at all. The just roll and do not stay in place. I used thick rubber bands from my vegetables as they stayed in place and did not move when trying to cut the glass. Also, when going to crack the glass use a very thin stream of hot water directly in cut line-a tea pot works great. Do not use hot water from faucet as it will cause an uneven break-even if you have very low-unless you are perfect at directing between the rubberbands.

I bought 2 as gifts . Neither has used it yet ., busy . I thought it was neat , but if you would like , buy for yourself . Everything g as pictured , packaged well , good price. Just not sure how difficult to use. Doesn't seem hard . I think it would be cute to have beer, wine bottle , pop bottle, etcetera. Glasses ....

I ordered this product to cut Moscato wine bottles and based on the description, it said it’d fit. Not only do these bottles NOT fit, it was incredibly hard to adjust to even get my bottle on there. The screws were so tight I couldn’t get them off and they left deep circle imprints on the metal. Because my bottle didn’t fit properly, i had a “etched line” that was uneven. By the way, if you’re looking for a bottle CUTTER, this is not your product. As I read in a tiny paragraph in the instructions, it doesn’t actually cut the bottle. You have to do extra work that can be done without this product...if I had known, I would’ve just stuck with the yarn soaked in nail polish trick.

I was ready to send it back but decided to try one more time to use t before I did. I had to make some adjustments to the product before I could get it to wok where I wanted to cut on a gallon jug, but was able to do it. i am able to do the project I wanted to do. It is easy and fun.

Getting a clean score with this device is as difficult a task as I've ever attempted. Adjusting the rollers to the bottle is insanely difficult and time consuming. You think you can just loosen the screws and move the guide? Wrong! You have to take the screws, with impossibly tiny little nuts, all the way off. Then move the guide and hope it's in the right place. Instead of holding the bottle in place, the back bottle stop flexes just enough that if you push down to try to hold the bottle on the rollers, you get an uneven score and yet another wasted bottle.There has got to be a better device than this on the market for cutting bottles. I honestly despise this thing. What a waste.

Watch some videos. Anybody's videos on how to separate the bottle once scored. Hot/cold water method worked great. Light sanding of the edges smoothed sharp edges beautifully.Only minor complaint.... the cutting wheel (preinstalled) was impossibly tight and difficult to loosen. Philip's heads might be a poor selection in this case. Maybe a locking washer would have helped.

Bought this and man once your got the hang of the items the glasses and bottles I've cut and made out of this is soo cool. Highly recommended.
