AuCuTee White Noise Sleep Machine with 10 Natural Sounds Mixing or Individually Played, Standard QI Wireless Charger & Bluetooth Speaker

 I’m into hacking both my sleep and concentration for peak performance. One way to do that is through timers and focus apps, but another way to do that is through the use of background white noise and natural sounds. This helps reduce distractions and can also help your brain achieve a more restful state, helping to make sleep both easier and deeper.The AuCuTee White Noise Sleep Machine, otherwise known as the AuCuTee Sleep Therapy Sound Machine, is a device that can play white noise and a range of natural sounds. This is a multi-function device, however, and its other features are similarly noteworthy. But first, let’s focus on the built-in sounds.There are 10 different sound modes, all selectable via slider. The higher you raise the slider, the louder the sound relative to the master volume dial. Each of the 10 sounds, which include crickets, a brook, birds, a lullaby, frogs, white noise, ocean waves, a fireplace, a grandfather clock, and a thunderstorm, can also be mixed together. This powerful feature is definitely a stand-out, and the chosen sound or sound mix can be set to a 30, 60, or 90 minute duration, should you not want it to run all night.The next feature is the AuCuTee’s wireless charging surface. This Qi-compatible surface works with a range of devices, like the iPhone 8/X and later model Samsung Galaxy series phones.The third and final major feature is its use as a Bluetooth speaker. With the press of the Mode button, you switch from sound effects mode to speaker mode. I tested this particular feature with an Amazon Echo Dot, and pairing was simple and painless. While the AuCuTee doesn’t get particularly loud and isn’t especially impressive sounding as a Bluetooth speaker, it’s still an improvement over what’s in the Echo Dot. On the plus side, there are also dedicated Pause/Play, Previous Song, and Next Song buttons on the AuCuTee.The AuCuTee is powered via a standard microUSB connection. You can use the included adapter with the included cable or simply plug the device into a suitable USB port. There’s even a pass-through USB port to charge most other USB devices.There really is an impressive range of features packed into this one lightweight and relatively compact device. The fact that it’s powered over USB makes it easy to use in different places throughout your house. This way you can not only hack your sleep, but also hack your concentration, listen to any paired Bluetooth device’s audio, or charge your Qi-compatible phone. Wow, this is a pretty unique product. Most white noise makers have presets such as a stream, ocean waves, springtime in the meadows, etc. This one has levers where you can mix, match, and experiment to your heart's content. The description states over 1,000, unique sounds, so I'm not even going try to prove them wrong, but what is true is that every experiment I've made has a unique sound. My favorite is still ocean waves, though, because it is slow and rhythmic, and not a constant flow of noise. There is a volume knob, and I tested the maximum volume is very loud - it would keep you awake more than put you to sleep. I leave mine usually between 20-40%, depending on the ambient noise.The one down side is it does not have a portable shape. From the photos, the actual machine is smaller than my expectations, to my pleasant surprise. Still, this would not be something you can stow in your carry-on for a trip. However, the company (AuCuTee) makes different noise machines at varying sizes.I also love that the top has a built-in wireless charger for phones with that capability. It works fine on my Samsung Note 8.All in all, it is a good product, and at $50 when I bought, it doesn't break the bank.

I am no longer using the machine. The tones are very nice and did help me get to sleep. However, at some point some voices come on and wake me up. I cannot make out what is being said but it is very disturbing. I used the machine for several weeks and on several settings with the same results. I know this doesn't sound logical but it is what happens.

Okay, here are the highlights...1. it's a white noise machine with 10 different sounds, but you can choose how loud you want each sound to be. So basically endless combos...just 1 sound or all 10 at once.2. Wireless charger...quite nice to not have to deal with plugging/unplugging a power cable. Wireless charging can be a bit slow, but all night is plenty of time.3. Built-in Bluetooth speaker does the job, but it's a bit quiet.4. USB out, so if you do want to plug in a usb power cable, you it goes directly into the back so you dont need a separate wall adapter.

Bought this for my son who has trouble sleeping at night. Go to open it up and it wasn’t even taped. I opened the box thinking it’s whatever only to find out that it scratched and looks to be used.

I got this to replace a similar item that broke well before it's time. This one has worked great. The bluetooth connects easily. I like the thunderstorm noise. I've taken this on checked luggage wrapped in a sweater and it was fine. I hope and think it will outlast my other brand that broke. Actually I want to get another one:) And the charger works great. Very happy about this purchase.

Works on the whole family! We like all the white noise sound options, especially the beach!

We love the machine part of the time, and hate it the rest of the time. Sound options are great and it’s pretty loud. Problem is that when we turn it on, sometimes this very weird merry go round music plays (even if all the sound selection options are off). Will be returning as this problem is recurring
