I was very scared when I was first diagnosed with an Actinic Keratosis and found it hard to get enough information. This is a decent guide with lots of good advice and a proper explanation on what is going on, the risks and future protection etc. I feel a lot more confident about things now and feel like I know what this disease is about, and have more facts under my belt, I feel far less worried about developing skin cancer. I'm probably better equipped to spot it if it happens again (or changes) and I feel with some minor changes to my lifestyle I can protect myself better. I would have liked to see more information on the side effects of the different treatments but other than that I found it full of useful tips and practical advice. I also liked the fact that the tone is re-assuring rather than too strident - I can pick and choose the things that work for me. Overall really pleased and recommend to others.

The cover of this book led me to think it would be full of very dry, basic information, but I was very surprised.The tone of this book is warm, empathetic and very easy to read, but the content is full of solid scientific research and actionable steps. I'm so glad to finally find information that I can actually use to help myself, rather than just wearing sunblock and waiting for my next skin check. This book explained all of the treatment options, but I now also have a ton of positive steps that I can take to boost my immunity and hopefully prevent future eruptions. This is the first time that I've been told what I can do besides stay out of the sun and that information is priceless to me.

Takes under an hour to read. With the exception of the "don't worry" stuff, all of this can be easily obtained thru Google from today's web. Very disappointed.

A very handy, concise, and encouraging look at this treatable condition. Loaded with helpful suggestions and information; I plan to use this as a reference at my next dermatologist appointment and to go forward from there. It took only an hour and a few minutes to read (Kindle)!
