SmallRig Camera Top Handle Cheese Handle Grip with Built-in Shoe Mount for Camera Rig, Camera Cage 1638B

I’ve seen handles 5x this cost, and just bought one $5 cheaper, so I had to replace that one with the SmallRig version. Also I added the railrod attachment to my 1st smallrig handle, that’s a great piece. The one I just bought in a moment of weakness (you’ll notice my reviews aim at the highest quality for the lowest price point- as a matter of business habit), now Descriptions are attached so no one is to blame and frankly, I’m using that one. Instead I just added it to a mini rig I was using on a mirrorless camera. For that system it’s fine. For the Tank Cage I was thinking I would need on a side and top handle, I revised my thoughts. This is a great handle, hard stop coldshoe, 4 M5’s hold it on, with 3 1/4/20 down the front and alternating 1/4-3/8 all over the handle, WHICH IS BIG. It feels BIG, it handle big, it is as beefy as the ridiculous one that’s nearly identical I paid almost $160 for, ‘thinking I must be missing something in the quality’, I wasn’t , it’s the typical uneven pricing for the highend brands in photog/Film, and honestly I can’t see this ever failing, I’m typical fuming uses. AA++ build, quality, material, price point. It’s a deal, and it’s a pleasure to hold.

The quality of this handle fits very well with the suggested camera cage. It’s easy to take on and off and is light weight.

A lot of top handles are too short to have a comfortable grip, especially when you're adding accessories. This one is great though. Works great with an easy rig as well.

Good all around handle that fits well at an affordable price. If you’re on a budget and not sure what handle to get this would be a good starting point. I ended up getting a different small rig handle, just for the convenience of having the nato rail and not fiddling with 1/4”-20 bolts every time I wanted to take it off to stuff the GH5 cage in a small camera bag. So this was the starting point to evaluate the top handle winner award. (The one I wanted for my rig) I’m a large in gloves. The orange hand are gloves from Home Depot as reference. Adequate space for hand grip but if you start adding accessories to the top handle it’s more of a cheese plate then.I’ve included two other handles, total of three in my choice. I opted for the Small rig handle that accepts the 15mm rods and arri locating pins in the end. I just liked the “Tilta look”

Siento que se me puede resbalar si no lo agarro firmemente. Tal vez añadiendo algo que mejore el agarre, sería perfecto.Por lo demás, me gusta. Pero si, añadirle un tope en el extremo o más grip, me daría mayor sensación de seguridad en el agarre con la mano.👍🏻👍🏻

Very strong and versitile. It does block the hot-shoe on top of the camera, but adds a cold shoe in it's place.

I was completely satisfied with the purchase of the SmallRig Top Handle. Sturdy build and works great with my BMPCC 4k. My purchase experience was exceptional as well. Quick and efficient service with a quick turnaround. I'd definitely buy from them again.

I think smallrig should add more information to the descriptions because I had to go looking around for the information myself and almost did not purchase because of this. I was wondering if it fits other smallrig cages not listed here like the 1584 The answer is yes it does. In fact if you read lower the holes are wider and can accomodate 30-40mm. I installed it on my cage and it's great.The handle is sturdy and long enough for my hand and I have big hands. It's also lightweight and has a very comfortable grip even though it's metal and there's no cushion or anything else around it. But I prefer this as the rail can accommodate many more accessories as well as having the shoe for a monitor, light or microphone. As an added bonus the handle was only $20. Someone here said there are other manufacturers who make better handles for the same price but I haven't seen any they are all $35-40 and at that price smallrig still has other types. I rather keep all my smallrig accessories from the same manufacturer.NOTE: Smallrig has really amazing products. I purchased only a small arm and adapter from smallrig a year ago but this year I purchased big items from them. I almost did not buy for lack of information they provide towards compatibility. I'm sure they don't care but I believe they could sell even more products if people knew they fit all kinds of scenarios. Would you believe I even installed a smallrig cage and matte box on a bridge camera for example? Well it works but good luck trying to find out that information anywhere even on YouTube reviewers of this stuff.

Cette poignée est d’une très bonne qualité et se fixe parfaitement sur sa cage SmallRig. Sa prise en main est très agréable et est assez légère et solide.

I love SmallRig products. I have a Sony ZV-1 rigged up in a SmallRig cage, and needed some additional mounting space as well as a better handle.This was on sale - probably my fault for not reading the compatibility, but it doesn’t fit exactly on the top of the ZV-1 cage. It’s still plenty sturdy with just the one bolt, but JFYI for anyone else thinking of doing the same, SmallRig also make a compact handle for smaller camera rigs that I believe would fit perfectly.So what do you get? A nice sturdy handle with a cold shoe mount on the front, all the mounting hardware required and some Allen keys.Please be aware that the handle does have additional mounting holes all over the top and sides, but actually not on the bottom. So I have a slightly weird setup now where my 10,000 mah battery is mounted sideways in the SmallRig battery bank holder on top of the handle at the back, to counter the weight, rather than hung underneath the handle where ideally I wanted it. My fault though!
