Poorly designed
These trays are poorly designed. When you add water they splash.

Better quality
The top tray is wobbly, I ended up cutting a hole in the middle of top tray to accommodate the dimple in the base. Also the base is not very deep. Was not worth the cost due to the low quality. Compared to the similar priced better quality versions.

Works pretty well
These work surprisingly well. I didn't think the wicking cords would transfer moisture to the soil through the grow bags effectively, I had planned to cut holes in the bottom of my bags and feed the wicking cord through and into the soil directly. But to my surprise, the moisture does transfer pretty well. They will work best if your bags are the same diameter as the saucer, otherwise I have found that evaporation is an issue. Also if too much water is left in the reservoir for too long, mosquitos could be an issue - but the trays are so shallow that hasn't seemed to be a problem for me, the minimal amount of water they hold gets sucked up pretty quickly. Other than that I am actually rather pleased with these saucers. I put a particularly sensitive plant on one while we were away for a few days and it managed to survive. I plan to use them for my larger potato grow bags which I struggle with as far as providing even moisture goes. All that being said, there are some things I'm not fond of. For one, the saucer is rather shallow as I mentioned, and you have to stay on top of filling it - I would like to see a little deeper reservoir. Also, these seem a little pricey to me, for the materials and construction (I have not tried any other "brand name" similar saucer set ups for comparison). Could a person diy something similar for a fraction of the cost? hmmm.Well anyway, if you can overlook the cost these do provide a functional solution to a common problem, keeping those grow bags from drying out quickly in warm dry weather.*Note-I received this product through the Amazon Vine program at a significantly reduced cost (I pay taxes on this item, so it is not totally free) in exchange for my honest review and opinion/experience with the item.*After reviewing hundreds of items, this is how I generally rate the products I receive. I strive to be fair and honest, rather than overly enthusiastic just because I received it through Vine. I try to base my review on how I would feel about it if I had paid full price:*5 Stars - I really love it! It might even be better than described, or a better design or quality than similar items. It is a good value, I would not hesitate to pay full price for the item for myself or for a gift and highly recommend it.*4 Stars - I like it a lot, it is accurately described, and in comparison to similar items in the same price range seems to be a good value. It might not be perfect or knock my socks off, but I would consider paying full price for the item for myself or for a gift.*3 Stars - The product is as described, average quality compared to similar items, and priced fairly. It might not be as well designed as similar items. It probably has a lot of competition and there might be better choices, I would shop around but might purchase if the price was right.*2 Stars - The product is well below my expectations for the price and quality compared to similar items, has significant issues or damage or poor quality control. I would not spend my money on it and would recommend you seriously consider the flaws before doing so yourself.*1 Star - This would be a very bad product (perhaps bad customer service on top of it). This is a product I would throw away and not even donate, and would recommend you do not purchase.

Exactly as he wanted
I ordered these for my husband to use in his grow room/tents. The sizing seems fitting, matches the photos, do what they say they will. He isn't using the self wagering part, he wanted these to help catch any extra water and to help prevent it from leaking into the floor. They work exactly as he hoped they do and doesn't have anything adverse to say about these at all whatsoever. He'd recommend and reorder them again in need be.

Work well as described
I had transplanted this plant to the grow bag because it was always sickly in a decorative ceramic pot. It was doing better, but I had still had difficulty keeping the plant properly watered. I kept bouncing back and forth between too wet or too dry which wasn't helpful to the plant. Now that I have had this self watering tray under the bag, the plant has perked up and appears very healthy. At first I filled they tray almost to the brim with water. By the next day, it seemed half had been sucked up. I added more water, tpping it off. Again, the next day, much of the water in the tray was gone. I felt the top of the soil and it was spongy wet. I thought, it was taking up too much water. If I watered it that much, it wouldn't survive. I stopped adding more water to tge tray. It's been several more days now. The water level in the tray seems to have stopped decreasing and remained steady during that time and still. The soil is still wet, but the plant is doing well. It is better and happy. The tray itself isn't very pretty, but it's effective. I don't have outdoor plants currently to use these, but I could see them working very well during these hot dry summer days.
