Charming and Varied
This is such a great album, Luisa is an accomplished musician and songwriter. The recording's production is first class, this is an Audiophile quality recording, and is probably one of the best "sounding" albums I have heard in years. The songs are engaging and varied, although they all broadly fall in to the Jazz category (which is wide in itself). Luisa's years at Berklee College of Music in Boston where obviously not wasted, the orchestration and compositions display consummate skill. This is a very enjoyable album, enhanced by the inclusion of a number of songs sung in Portuguese;, however, the majority of the album is in English. There is a lot of warmth in the lyrics and music, some tracks harking back to Jazz classics of the 1930's to 1950's. I can't help but think that she he has a lot in common with Amy Winehouse vocally, though her songs are not as personal and pained as Amy's, Luisa is more of a story teller. The standout tracks are numerous, "Xico" is straight out of caberet Jazz reminiscent of Carmen Miranda, "Clementine" reminds me of early Rickie Lee Jones. The opening track "I would Love Too" sets the mood for what's to come well and is followed by the charming "Not There Yet", where Luisa begins as if giving a piano lesson to a young child. "Why Should I" could have been penned by Noel Coward and the closing torch song "Oversize" is terrific and my current favourite - but really all the songs are very good.Luisa is an exciting prospect for the years to come, I hope she builds the wide audience she deserves.

Music to Melt by
This is one of the finest CD's on release at the moment. If you are looking for a an easy listening and interesting CD then this is it. It contains enough variation of styles to satisfy everyone, from the quirky to the heartfelt Luisa covers it all with a varity of styles and sounds. It contains one of the most catchy songs of the year in "Not there yet", but all of the songs will stand up by themselves and on each new listen you will discover more and more subtleties, which only enhance the songs.Music to make you think and smile!

The Icing on the Cake
This really is an excellent album by an accomplished singer-songwriter. Initially, "Not there yet" and "Clementine" stand out as the most commercially accessible songs, but with repeated listening you begin to appreciate the subtlety and interesting chord structures of songs such as "Deja Vu" and "Oversize." As has already been said, the feel of the album is broadly jazzy but also very melodic and the backing band complement Luisa's expressive vocal style. Thoroughly recommended.

Gorgeous... an amazing young voice
I love her album, no words to describe it! She's creative, with a beautiful voice and with loads of potential. Easy listening and beautiful. If you have the chance to see her live go, her concerts are really good as well :)

I'm totally infatuated
I discovered Luisa on "Later with Jools," an English tv show we recently starting getting here in America. From the opening xylophone notes and crooning of Clementine, I was hooked. Her voice is angelic (shades of Beth Gibbons & Zooey Deschanel) and her vast musicianship is stunningly impressive. My favorite songs are Clementine, Not There Yet, and After All.I listen primarily to hard rock, but this smooth mellow jazz is a wonderful change of pace for the right mood.I can only hope for the day that she comes to America to tour...
