What's not to like about pirate folk metal rock .....

This was a birthday present for my son who loves this music.

Arrrrr pirate rock music arrrr, pass the rum.

Brilliant

following on from the full length 'Captain Morgan's Revenge' CD this EP ploughs much the same furrow of all out ballsy folk rock, Touring mates of Turisas there are some obvious similarities though production values don't seem quite so high.Its a nod to the new 'Leviathan' a nod to the past 'Heavy metal pirates' and the downright gimmicky with a cover of eurovision 2008 hopefuls Pirates of the Sea(s)'Wolves of the Sea..its price doesn't tend to reflect the paucity of tracks but it is listed as an EP so fair dues...That aside it's a worthwhile collection and with new product mooted for the new year you have to wonder is this the cestation of an old direction?..To be honest as much as I like this band subtle changes to sound are needed to keep the momentum unless of course they want to be the Status Quo of Pirate metal!!!

This is an excellent EP by Alestorm. If you like any of their other albums, you will like this is EP. I highly recommend you check this EP out. If you like it, support the artist and buy it.

MIt diesem Minialbum habe ich diese Band mit ihrem schottischen Piraten-/Folkmetal kennengelernt und ich war quasi vom ersten Ton an begeistert.Die Melodien laden geradezu zum wippen der Füße ein und Passagen zum Mitsingen gibts ebenfalls genug. Ein Vergleich mit RUNNING WILD ist meiner Meinung nach verkehrt, denn die Songs sind Härter und haben eine andere Atmosphäre als damals die Rockn Rolftruppe zu "Under Jolly Roger"-Zeiten.Ich bin ein Fan geworden und werde mir natürlich auch die übrigen Alben rasch zulegen.Der Preis, hier bei amazon.de, ist für so ein Klasseminialbum durchaus ok !
