IS suitable for ANDROID!
Despite no mention on the packaging, nor the instructions, this IS compatible with Android but you will need the connector mentioned in the text of product description here. No formatting needed. Worked straight away.

Damaged date cable. Does not work.
The cable that came with the Hardrive did not work. I kept getting an error code. When i googled the code it said that the cable might be damaged and unable to transfer data. The Drive itself seems to be working as i had another cable on hand.
