It works really well, and the battery lasts a long time, but mine didn’t come with the cool paracord whistle thing. So don’t expect to get it with that.

Fit and finish is nice, no sharp edges or burrs, was already 100% charged up, comes in a very nice looking gift box that was wrapped in a fitted resealable plastic package.This is an simple electric lighter, it is not one of those expensive high voltage electronic lighters that you’ll see the LARGE electric arc between the probes and literally hear the crackle and snapping of the electricity arcing back and forth. Material looks and feels like it is made out of PVC plastic, feels solid slight weight to it, snap holds cover closed but button (you push) wiggles around a bit. Finish is a nice flat black color.I intend on using it to start my Kamado Smoker and charcoal chimney. The diameter and length (about an inch) of the extending probe is small enough to fit between the bottom slots of the charcoal chimney but it is too short to reach inside the vent at the bottom of the Kamado grill (but I knew that before I ordered it). There is no flame just a small arc is not like a butane mini torch (which is what I normally use) so you’ll have to stand there for a few seconds if you are trying to light a piece of bulk charcoal. I do not think this is the right lighter for cigar smokers. This is a good lighter to place with your emergency equipment or bug out bag.Note: There are inexpensive electric butane lighters that provide a stronger flame.The led charging meter is a nice touch but I normally just plug in my devices for charging and check at the stated charge time by the manufacture. I’m not sure if the metal is chrome plated but if so will expect it will eventually rust. The description just says metal, unknown if it is stainless steel but the finish is chromed. The lanyard and whistle is a nice touch but not very loud shrill, especially if you are a hiker, just need a small mirror if hiking. Comes with a short charging cord but does not include a 5 watt charger.The suggested MSRP is a little high considering there are two pack electronic butane lighters for less then one of this lighter, so the manufacture might consider lowering the price. It works as advertised, they didn’t try and hype up the description although the pictorial showed a gentle flame (which would be the material catching fire and not from the lighter. A piece of paper did easily catch fire when I held the arc against the paper. Am giving it a 5 Star rating, will revise if/when this lighter fails. My rating would have been lower but the manufacture made an extra effort of the very nice gift box and fitted reusable plastic packaging that can be used to protect the gift box.

There is a lot to like about this lighter. It arrived virtually fully charged. I always plug in devices as soon as I open them as a quick test on battery self-drain and to give a review based on a fully charged battery. This was only plugged in about ninety seconds and it was fully charged. I appreciate that this will work when I need it – not when I need it and after I wait for it to charge. The presentation of this lighter seems very high-end. It comes in a very nice giftable box that I would actually use to gift something else if “LIGHTER Classic Fashionable” wasn't printed on it. It really would make a great gift but this one is MINE. There is a card enclosed with a diagram showing the different parts of the lighter. I really appreciate that the lighter has both a clip to keep it closed securely and the button to push to open the top. This definitely seems that it will stay clean, dry, and ready to use even in the worst environments. It has a nice silicone feel to the outside that provides a secure grip as well as the sealing feature. The light is not too shabby. There is a steady and a flash mode and it is surprisingly bright – particularly as it is a secondary feature. I LOVE that the lighter extends and is bendable, though it's not very long. Definitely long enough for a votive candle but your Large Yankee jars will need to be new for it to reach. The plasma arc itself is just okay. I have others with dual arcs and such but they definitely are not as rugged as this one and do not flex. The lanyard is okay – I'd rather have it than not but the whistle is weak. It sounds to me like the shrill shrieking of little girls who had a frog jump on them in the middle of the night or something. It scared the bejeebies out of my cat and her kittens but I don't know that it wouldn't entice something like a bear rather than deter them. The lanyard and whistle are underneath the plastic insert that holds the lighter – along with the USB cable. It isn't evident they are there, so I thought I'd note that. Overall, I think it's an okay plasma lighter with fantastic build and features. I recommend it as a great gift or for keeping for yourself.

This is the first Arc lighter that I have ever had. It seems to be well made and works perfectly. I really like the waterproof case and the extendable lighter head. It does make a pretty loud high-pitched noise when using it, but it is bearable. I have used it several times to light candles, and fire starters for my smoker. This is a great lighter to put in your fishing bag or backpack. The battery was charged when I got it and have not had to charge it yet, the battery seems to last a long time. I am very happy with the product.

I've been using this as my primary lighter for about 5 months now and it has been great. It holds a charge for a reasonable time. The light isn't my go to, but it works when I don't have my normal one on hand. The lighter it's self is great. It works in all weather and lights thing quickly. Cleaning is easy and durability is good. I would recommend to people looking for a lighter for edc.

This thing is amazing. It's got a little goose-neck with this arcing element on the end. We're not just talking about a sparker to catch in tinder but this thing will catch practically anything flammable. It took a little strip of firewood that would fit in the arc and had it blazing in seconds, Newspaper, toothpicks, cardboard, you name it - up in flames.It's got a rubberized shell and a very secure locking latch to make sure there's no accidents. Also has a loop in it to attach a string or neck lanyard.I have no idea how long something like this lasts but this is like the coolest thing since fire was discovered.Highly recommended.
