Java For Testers: Learn Java fundamentals fast Paperback – 6 Aug. 2015

I am a junior tester with very basic knowledge of programming and I found this book perfect for my needs.Throughout the years I’ve been trying to go through different online turorials, courses and books related to Java. I did get the basic understanding but I couldn’t finish any of them. In many cases the order of learning was counter-intuitive.This book is by far the best experience I’ve ever had. It explains everything in an easy to follow way. Things that other courses leave unexplained are clearly described from the very beginning. For example such basic thing like structure of the packages - it’s clearly explained and utilised from the very beginning. I’ve been doing very high rated udemy courses that for first 20 hours didn’t say anything about that, each lesson was starting with a new project, which I now see wasn’t helping my learning at all.Additional testing-oriented approach makes the learning experience even more interesting. Totally recommended!

I've read numerous books on Java and Testing over the years, but this is by far the most essential one I've come across. Ideal for getting a solid grounding in Java from a QA perspective while bypassing the more traditional "learn to code" aspects to focus on what you really need from a Test perspective. I'm very tempted to make it required reading for all my Junior team members in the future.

I got a lot of use out of this book, it flowed well for me.

I've got to chapter three and I've written my first JUnit test in IntelliJand run it with maven at the command line. Fantastic!
