The Haunted
This was the best book I have read by this author. It involved family, had a great storyline, the dialogue was wonderful. It was fast paced. This is the book that has started me to reading again. The plot was believable and it was fast paced. The story was like watching a movie.

So Good!!!
I expect nothing less than perfection from Bentley Little and he never disappoints. I would love this book to be made into a movie. The terror and dread was palpable. And this was the first BL book to ever make me tear up. You could feel the fear and love that this family was feeling. Highly recommended!!

Yikes!!
This book is scary — not the gory, graphic scary of modern day storytelling but scary as any excellent ghost story should be, that relies on the storyteller’s ability and the reader’s imagination. I particularly enjoyed the pieces of “historical research,” which lent a frightful realness to the story. To read in the dark or to read in a well-lit room? That was my internal struggle as I enjoyed this tale. Oh, yes. This was a scary book that I highly recommend reading…. in the dark. [Nail biters beware - you WILL have sore, chewed nails and cuticles.]

Great build up with some genuine "shiver-inducing" moments.
THE HAUNTED, by Bentley Little, really started out well for me. After the initial introduction to the main characters, we quickly find our way to "the house". The Perry family are moving due to the corruption of their original neighborhood, and of course, the house they find seems almost "too good to be true" at the time. (In horror, always the giveaway that something is horribly wrong). The tension in this one is really done masterfully. Several "isolated" incidents among the individual family members were genuinely scary! Not only did these serve to show the reader what was "wrong', but it had the additional leverage of dividing the people--of course, they were all either in disbelief, or too scared to tell anyone else about what they had encountered.Approximately half way through, we get a series of flashbacks to the town hundreds of years ago. These were done--again--in such a way that they added to the story, as opposed to taking us out of it completely. There were enough little twists that changed the course of the book to where I wasn't able to predict the ending, which is also an added bonus. My only complaint here was that the ending DID seem overly simplistic in comparison to the fantastic build-up of the book. It ended in more of a "whimper" instead of a "bang". With a heavier-edged conclusion, this book had the potential to be a five star read for me.Still, an overall great read.Recommended!

It's Named Perfectly
Julian and his family wanted a fresh start. So they moved into a house in Jardine, NM.But why was it so cheap? And why have they never met their neighbors or even seen most of them? This house has a long history and for Julian's family, they are about to get a very intimate look at it. Will they be able to escape this place or will they simply become a small insignificant part of it's vast history?Little rocks!! I enjoy everything this guy writes!

Don't Miss Out
Bentley Little never disappoints. Another excellent read. I highly recommend every single one of his books. He never fails to keep me up half the night wanting to see what happens next. I'm not always into haunted house books but he made it awesome, just as I knew that he would. Unless

Terror
This is a terror inducing work of fiction. There are multiple twists and turns that leave your stomach lurching in your throat like the worlds fastest roller coaster. Some times the hits come so quick Mike Tyson would have a hard time keeping up a defense. A crane cable would snap under the tension this book builds.Honestly it’s hard to describe something that makes you so afraid you have to go look to make sure it isn’t happening in your life, in your house, to your family right now. This book made me put it down because it hit my heart so hard in spots that I just couldn’t keep reading. What are you willing to sacrifice for your family? Some people say anything and some people know better.

A good scary story.
What I like about this book was the way the scary parts were described and how the characters reacted to them. It was really scary and realistic. However, I think there were some parts that were not really necessary in the book. But, overall it was a good read.

A great haunted house story
I loved this book. A great haunted house story with lots of creepy moments and plot twists. Believable characters. Well paced. Great writing style. I've only recently discovered Bentley Little and now I plan to read through all of his novels. If you like the books of Stephen King, John Matheson, Joe Hill, Dean Koontz, etc., I think you'll love this.

Don’t bother. Misogynistic horrible writing
Finished at 43% I don’t often DNF a book but my Lord I struggled to get this far. I cannot cope with the sex scenes, honestly very unimpressed. Annoyed it was recommended by so many people, and sad I’ve wasted my time trying to drag myself through this awful book. Won’t be reading another Bentley Little, not if this is his writing style.

Nothing scary here
I've read many horror books and seen many horror films so maybe I'm desensitised (I'd like to think knowledgable about the genre) but I really found nothing scary about this story. The writing was mediocre, and in parts quite immature. The sex brought nothing to the story and I wonder why the writer added it all. If it was meant to shock it didnt, it just left me wondering what had happened in the writer's life that he put so much emphasis on it. In my opinion this isn't horror, it had no scares, was boring, and writing I wouldn't expect from a professional. My first book from this author and I won't be reading any others by him.
