EASY TO CLEAN!
Collecting KitchenAid attachments has been a hobby of mine for a while, and while many go unused (like the juicer attachment and the grater) this one turned out to be very very useful. I no longer have to buy the final products at the store and get them possibly mixed with god knows what, I can make it at home and make sure everything is fresh and clean with no additives. The best thing about it? It is SOLID, many attachments are plastic and feel flimsy, not this one. It is solid metal and heavy, so you know you're getting your money's worth. Even though it is 3rd party, it does fit right in to my kitchen aid without any issue. It comes with tools to open it up and disassemble it, that way you can clean all the crevices where things can get stuck. It has a selector for the grinding and is very easy to use. Overall, it is definitely worth it, and a great addition to my kitchenaid, I know I will be using it more often now that I have additional attachments. All I am missing is a pasta one.

Dangerous product that destroyed my stand mixer within minutes
I used this grain mill attachment exactly as instructed—starting on the lowest speed, gradually increasing, and running it for less than 10 minutes total. Despite following the listed usage limits, my stand mixer began smoking heavily, emitted a strong burning smell, and the motor was completely destroyed. This wasn’t just frustrating—it was potentially dangerous, and could have easily become a fire hazard. The mixer had been working perfectly prior to using this attachment. The product listing stated it was compatible with KitchenAid mixers, but failed to warn about potential motor strain or safety risks. I’ve since had to go through a lengthy customer service process to report the damage and attempt to resolve the issue.I cannot recommend this product. If you value your mixer—or your safety—please look elsewhere.

Saves Money and Elevates Cooking"**
Love grinding my own organic grains at home instead of buying expensive pre-milled flours! The attachment works smoothly with my KitchenAid mixer, and the noise level is minimal. It’s paid for itself already—perfect for DIY enthusiasts and health-conscious families!

Mill
I like the mill but it is a little slow. Need to stop every 20 minutes or so and let my mixer cool off. Other then that works well if you want to mill flour to make a few loaves of bread.

Easy to set up, easy to adjust, easy to clean
I use it to grind wheat, primarily, and it works well enough for my needs. It seems very robust and hasn't yet corroded at all. I'm quite happy with it but it doesn't get regular use. If I used it more I might actually get a standalone mill.

This broke my Kitchen Aid mixer
I started using this in October and would use it about once a week with my Kitchen Aid artisan. I noticed it got harder and harder for the grain to be ground up and would come out slower and slower each time. It also heated up my mixer which never happens with any other attachments. Eventually my mixer started grinding and one of the gears is now destroyed. This is not compatible with the Kitchen Aid mixers and now we're out $90 and have to fix my mixer. Very upset about this!Edited to add: my husband was able to replace the gear that was destroyed and we are trying it again with the mixer running prior to adding grain to the mill. There were no instructions saying to do this that I saw, but if that's the case this should be stated somewhere on the description to do that! I've only tried it once and it didn't break the first time... Time will tell.

Good Mill For Small Projects
I was excited to try this grain mill as I had been looking at such items for a good while. First off it seems well made, nice and heavy with a solid design and construction. It is easy to dismantle for cleaning with the included hex wrench and brush. These are good things.Where I think it has some limitations (and probably these are shared with the Kitchenaid attachment as well) is that is it simply smaller in capacity and speed. The hopper holds approximately 150 grams of grain (from memory) which is great for feeding a starter but would require reloading for actual bread making. It also needs to be cranked to the finest setting to get anything resembling my King Arthur whole grain flour consistency-not a big deal but would like to see finer settings. As to the actual cutting/milling heads it is very similar to my coffee grinder but the burrs are not nearly as deep so their longevity might be an issue, but that is pure speculation.Bottom line if you are an occasional user who wants to dip their toes into whole grain baking and using fresh, whole grains this mill fits the bill nicely and you will be happy with it. For a dedicated home baker who is looking to mill larger quantities more frequently I would look elsewhere.I fit into the former category so find this works just fine for me.
