I like the boots I just want proper laces ...and it's the pair of laces I like and it's impossible to find a match

These boots are stylish, have above average cushioning, and are warm.I did notice two flaws which weren't deal breakers for me but might be for you. 1. The complaints about the tongue not being designed properly are true. Not sure why they could get the shoe to be sleek in many other ways but the tongue looks like it was designed by an amateur, floppy and misshapen. As a result, there's a bit of a bulge, but it's not that noticeable unless you're looking for it. Also it doesn't consistently cover the "V" gap between the 5th eyelet and the bottom of the two metal lace loops. This shoe bills itself as waterproof, but water could easily get in here. 2. The second issue is these feel a little narrow to me, and I have narrow feet. In fact, the left shoe felt like it was squeezing my pinky toe at first but its less noticeable now. I didn't have to tighten the laces out of the box and I feel locked in. So while this aspect is tolerable-to-good for me, if you have wide feet you want to size up accordingly.

Nice looking shoe and comfortable, but the tongue lacks cosmetic appeal. Not going to replace my Lowa or Salomon mids for a serious hike, but certainly look more professional at work!
