They are thick and classy plates! I love them.

After researching this company I really liked the looks and style of their plate set. There were plenty of reviews good and bad to filter through including some bad reviews that show the plates being cracked under heat in the microwave or chipping in certain areas. Most of the bad reviews were 4-5 years ago and this particular set is a newer model plateware set so I thought I would give it a shot thinking Gibson had improved their products.You’ll be happy to know dear reader that they are amazing. There were no chips or discoloration. Nothing was broken and was padded pretty well in the packaging box. I think you’ll be impressed with the quality. The plates, bowls, and coffee cups have a fantastic smooth artisan feel and it’s something you have to glide your fingers across to know what I mean. It truly feels like a premium set.What I like most, is that the plates are dishwasher, microwave, and oven safe. They have it imprinted on the bottom of the plates in case you need proof. I tested out these plates in all 3 of these areas and nothing went wrong. Highly impressed. For the cost of this set, it’s well worth it aesthetically and I hope you’ll pick up this set for yourself

These are lovely, weighty pieces at a very fair price. The glossy red and matte black combination is as pretty as the pictures.While the plates and bowls are not inconveniently oversized, they are definitely a bit heavier than I was expecting... If you have arthritic hands or weak grip strength, this set might not be your best choice.

I needed to replace a few year old dish set that had chips from years of use.I had a tough time deciding on a new set with so many options out there. I finally decided on this set for a few reasons: modern look, depth of bowls, and the included mugs.When the set arrived, the packing job was top quality. I took my time unwrapping and put them in the washer.First use - the square plate design is new to me. I actually prefer these over circular plates based on not only style but practicality.The mugs I use for coffee and the design is a perfect size for a cup of Joe in the morning. The cup retains the warmth of the coffee without heating the outside of the mug.As for bowls, these are perfect for soups, cereal, and pho. Again, like the mugs, the outside doesn't heat up and burn your hands.I really dig this and would definitely recommend this product to anyone needing an everyday dish set.

We love the colour, shape and look of this set. We are disappointed with the finish of the glaze on the top. There are pock marks that may have caused from bubbles on all four of the large dinner plates.

This company is AWESOME! First thing, the packaging is A1, Plus, Magnificent! This dishware is so Beautiful! It is heavy duty, easily cleaned, stacks well in cabinet, holds an amazing amount of food, on and on and on! I also had an interaction with Customer Service and it was EXEMPLARY! The Gibson Company should give lessons on customer service! I ended up buying 3 sets, service for 12! I will not have to buy dishware again for many many years. And... if someone asks me for a gift of dishware, this is what I would buy!

First time Gibson customer today. Observations from opening the box today:In a world where many business models cut costs, I am happy to find a company that does not do that. Thank you Gibson. The adequate packaging kept everything safe from your store to my home, and provided me with a positive first impression when opening the box.The plates, bowls, and mugs are beautiful. Pictures on a computer do not do them justice. They are heavy, and clearly fine craftsmanship was involved in making them.The bowls are slightly deeper than my previous set from another company. I'm very excited to have a proper bowl of cereal without having to refill the bowl to get in my morning's breakfast.First time customer that will probably be a repeat buyer. Thank you for exceeding my expectations.

I purchased these for my son because he likes Asian style things, as do we all, and these are really beautiful. I have to be a little bit honest, though, the large plates are large and a little on the heavy side. I have arthritis in both my elbows and wrists and severe neck and back problems so lifting these plates, believe it, or not, for me is a little difficult so you may want to keep that in mind. I hope he enjoys his for many years to come!
