Starter Coir Pellets - For sowing small seeds (such as lobelia, begonias etc.) pinch sow a few seeds onto the surface of the pellet. For sowing larger seeds (such as French marigold, lettuce, tomatoes and brassicas etc) sow a single seed into the pellet.Pellets 3.5cm diameter. This listing is for a case of 1500 x 3.5cm diameter Coir Pellets.

Good for cuttings, not so for seeds
Bought over a year ago, prompt delivery and soaked up water well. Used them mainly for seeds of various sizes - sweet corn, melons, tomatoes, peppers/chillies, courgettes. Used others for geranium cuttings. Put seeds in holes, sometimes had to enlarge slightly for larger seeds, sprinkled compost on top. Germination good BUT all too many seeds simply pushed themselves up out of the pellets and fell over in the propagator. Nearly all had to be potted up within a day or two of germination as they were too delicate to simply push back into the pellet - not good. Did notice later, stamped on the box, that they were "for cuttings" and the cuttings did well. Thought seed issue might be me so have tried again this year but to the same effect. The rest will be used over the years for cuttings and I'll be trying a different sort for seeds.
