Great sound from a small dynamo. PROBLEM FOUND EASY FIX
The media could not be loaded. This amazing Pure Class-A, as per the description, a 6w+6w small tube amplifier. ***Warning! The metal housing is indeed an old school BELL housing. Whilst checking my acoustics using hand claps I could hear the transformer housing pealing like a crystal chime. This will affect your sound signature if not dampened. I placed a silicone pad on mine and ‘voila’ ringing gone. *** The 2 KT-66's and one 6N1-P from Gold Lion in the pix I added for tube rolling and were NOT included with the price of this amp. This amp comes with an unmarked set of tubes that sound just great and I believe are Chinese made like this amplifier. This is a very simply and elegantly designed amplifier that just makes sound beautiful and deep when used with the right system and setup. Remember that this is a low power CLASS A TUBE AMP! As such it will need time to warm up to get the best sound. It also puts out quite a bit of heat so keep your room ventilated. I usually wait at least a half an hour before running a signal through the speakers. I have also found that the sound gets much richer and has a better developed sound stage as the system runs for a few hours. This produces as sweet a sound as I have heard since my youth when I had a very large Sunn tube amplifier for my string bass in college. Especially through my 60 plus year old speakers. The amp has two inputs in which is one set is a pair of standard unbalanced red and white set and a CD input which is also unbalanced. This amp actually will drive the CD player plugged into the back of the unit directly without need for a preamp! There is a very simple black push-button for switching between these two inputs. The speaker output jacks are heavy-duty and easily connected with banana plugs or bare wire if needed. My first antique speakers are 20W max 16 ohm 3-way. This amplifier will put out far more decibels than I need for my listening needs and hearing. The bass is deep and the treble is high. As an added note they have a 4 ohm and 8 ohm connection for the speakers with a common 3rd plug for the negative lead. All-in-all I have found this amp has the capability to stretch a 16 ohm speaker pair uphill and easily drive a pair of 50 Watt antique Pioneers at 8 ohms and 145 watt Cerwin Vega 280 SE's also at 8 ohms without any issues. I try to keep the volume for listening in the 55-65 decibel range typically. At these levels I can discern no distortion coming through any of the super tweeters. Pushing up above 90 will begin to show unneeded dissonance in the sound picture but I keep that down to brief excursions. I will allow that the CD transport through the Wiim Ultra has a much better quality of sound over the 1994 antique Pioneer CD player but it doesn't have that vintage sound dynamic that the old equipment imparts to these beautiful walnut cabinets ( and it cost waaay more than the $10 I paid for the Pioneer player). So I want anyone who is looking to purchase this amplifier to just remember that this is not the amp for the guy playing guitar from 'The Road Warrior' hanging from bungees. It will however, put out solid sound and plenty of volume on even a barn find set of speakers from a thrift store.

Incredible sound in small rooms or low volumes.
Incredible build and sound quality. However, be advised this is not the optimum product for large speakers or rooms. If you are in a smaller room or listen at lower volumes, it’s magical. But if you want to crank it, while it does get loud, it will distort a little and bass will not be clear. For any other use case, it’s an incredible piece of equipment. I used it with JBL L82s in a 10x20ft room and had to return it for a much more powerful (and expensive) amp, but if I ever start a second system in my bedroom, I will be repurchasing it!

Enjoying my music collection again.
I've had many tube and solid state amps over the years. Class A/B, push-pull and even a couple class d amps recently. This is my first class A tube amp. Love it. I was even impressed with the tubes provided. I could have easily lived with those, but its in my nature to try different one, especially since I had them laying around. I think the input tube has the most effect, so it got replaced with a 6922. For power tubes, 6L6GC were slightly tighter sounding. 5881 had a more controlled lower end. Tung-Sol 7581A was great all around.

Broke immediately
Very first moment I turned it on, it made a loud pop noise and wouldn’t power up. Had to return it.

Upgraded to 6550 tubes!
6L6 stock tubes sound kind of bad as in quite. A lavk in clarity, but after putting in 6550WE Tubes it sounds like I'm listening through crystals which is the sound signature of 6550 tubes.

Very good amp for the money
Very nice and well built for the money. A low power class A amplifier paired with efficient speakers deliver a unique warm sound for acoustic and vocal music. You can also tailor the sound by replacing tubes. There are many 6L6 power tubes to try. The 6N1 has far fewer alternatives.

Fantastic little amp
I was absolutely shocked at how good this little class A integrated amp was. I've had really expensive tube pre amps coupled with tube power amps and this little guy is just as good. It effective in giving a clear precise image and sound just plain good. I did roll the tubes to KT 66 Gold Lions and a single Roshkov rocket 6n1p. It's glorious folks. Highly recommend this little guy. Make sure however your speakers are at least 87 db. Cheers!
