Impression Lancing Device

Awful
Had some misgivings about this after reading other reviews and now I see why a fair few slated it. Got this as a replacement for my elderly mother and getting the needle in was fine but she struggled to see the indicators of pressure or pull the device back. Managed to sort that out for her only to find that the button to jab yourself was so stiff that it was impossible to use. Thankfully my mother was trying this as a dummy run and not actually needing to test herself as I’m sure she’d be in a hospital either through her diabetes or through the stress of trying to use what should be quick and easy! Avoid like the plague..

Works fine...
I can understand why reviewers state needles are hard to remove and device is hard to prime so bear this in mind if you are thinking of buying. Do not have problems using the device myself however if the device had a needle eject system I would give it 5 stars. Good points unlike my original device pushing the needle in does not prime it so leaving no doubt that has to be done also plenty of options to change needle depth and found device almost painless to use + light to hold. Needles used so far GluRx and Microlet both fit fine.

Okay but a bit fiddly to use
This Autolet Impression Lancing Device is okay although the lancets have to be very precisely fitted and it requires a bit of effort to pull it back ready to "fire". In operation, this device works crisply and isn't painful but you need to get the setting right. In my experience, this device works with Autolet and other brands of lancet.

Caution - requires strong hands
I bought this item for my mother who is elderly and a diabetic. The problem is that it takes quite a lot of strength, in the hands/fingers, to "arm" this device (i.e. to draw back the top to arm the spring) - much more than my mother can muster anyway - so I will have to send this one back. This problem is not true of all such devices. My mother got on fine with her old one (until it broke after about 5 years of daily service) and the one I have already bought to replace this device so I'd have to conclude that the design of the "Autlet Impression" lacks some common sense.

Poor Design - Lancets difficult to remove after use
The product appears to be good quality but unfortunately the design is faulty in that it is very difficult to remove the lancets after use. I use the Unilet ComforTouch lancets which are from Owen Mumford who make the Autolet Impression and these lancets are recommended for use in the device. It is very difficult to remove a lancet after use. I contacted Owen Mumford support and they were very helpful and sent me another device for me to try but that had the same problem. They acknowledged that some people have a problem getting the lancets out of the device. I cannot recommend this device as I have no problems with the strength of my fingers - it is the device which has the problem. Hopefully they will modify the design as the feature for pain relief worked very well.

Nearly painless
Once I got the hang little device, I have found it to be a virtually painless way of blood testing. The lancet holder is a little tight and needs a good tug to remove the needle, but apart from that, I am very pleased with my purchase.
