I used this modulator to hook up a super old 1980s tv with coaxial only hook ups. (No RCA or components) to a PlayStation 4 which only has HDMI.You just hook a coax cable to the back of the tv and run it to the Modulator out, hook up the hdmi cord from the PlayStation to the modulator, you'll need a wall piece cube to plug the devices cord into (cord included, cube is not) and turn it on, flip to either channel 3 or 4 whichever is compatible with your device and BOOM!The picture on the tv was obviously of lesser quality due to it being an analog tv compared to the modern smart TV pictures that most people have today, but that's to be expected with an ancient tv lol. Super happy I found a way to do convert HDMI to coaxial though Bc my 13 year son who is on the spectrum has an obsession with vintage electronics. And he really wanted to play a modern gaming console on an old tv .. so this is what made that dream come true for him! ♥️The signal quality and sound quality were great! So easy to connect & the Device is definitely cost effective! Very very happy with this purchase!

Its being used in a commercial environment and on 24/7-still doing the job months later.

This modulator works fine and it is very compact. However the audio is not modulated to stereo, but it does not advertise that it does. Also, in my application the USB power supply was not necessary (it was fed by the HDMI cable).

This modulator and an HDMI restored the Antenna TV on our 1-year-old Samsung 55-inch Smart (dumb) TV after the coax connecter broke off the back of the unit. Cost us about $50 to do what the TV repair shop said would cost $250/ replacing the board and connector or the 3 others that said, No Thanks we can't help with that. Plug, quick TV reprogram and local channels back up and running. Source switching is only issue. SAMSUNG NEEDS TO USE A BETTER COAX CONNECTOR. A little solder connection with no frame support has failed on 2 Samsung sets. And Samaung Customer Service has no clue how to help you.

I have recently purchased a new high-resolution TV which has a beautiful picture but no RCA- AV inputs.I bought this device in hopes it would help me solve a problem with my older surround sound system,which make no mistake, has a wonderful audio output and I am not about to " TRASH IT ".My sound system outputs a video signal which is required to setup the audio profiles. This normallywould go into the RCA_A/V inputs which thanks to many TV manufactures infinite wisdom, no longer exist and is now placed by that HDMI interface.By using this RF Modulator with the new TV's RF-Input, which is still present on newer TV's , I was able to get the needed video signals modulated for viewing to set up my Surround Sound system and optimize it with the newer TV.It worked GREAT!!!!!

If you are like me and needed to connect a VCR/DVD player to your SmartTV then this is what you need. I already had an RCA to HDMI adapter that worked on my previous Samsung SmartTV but I recently purchased a new model (DU6900) and it would not pick up the HDMI port because there is no WiFi connection from the VCR. Very frustrating. Luckily I found this product. It’s very simple to set up. Give the modulator power by connecting the usb cord into an outlet. Plug the RCA cords into the modulator. Run a coaxial cable from the modulator to the TV. Put the tv on channel 3 or 4. The modulator has a switch that lets you toggle between channels 3&4. Old school baby!

Not very good internal shielding. Open to a LOT of signal interference. Price was good, but may want to spend more for something of a bit better build quality.

I think it would be great for proper application.PROBLEM: I have an existing HDMI to RF converter now. I feed the TV from the ROKU HDMI connection to an HDMI to RF convertor and then out to an old TV.I needed to hook in a old VCR signal going out to the TV. This unit will not work with a non compatible HDMI to RF converter because there is no connection on my existing HDMI to RF convertor which would accept the RF connection from this unit. IE: no RF signal from the VCR to convertor and then to the TV going out by coaxial cable. It just wont hook in correctly.
