Blow away
This is a solid system. Just got it in and replaced my Onefinity steppers and controller to this. To test it out I put a gnarly piece of warped and knotted black walnut on the build plate. Bottom has about 1/3 of wood touch surface and double sided sticky tape that attached it. I want to try and make this system fail. 1/4 deep with 1/4 flat oflute and proceed to go 250 in/m. All was going well surprisingly well until it was almost done and hit the hardest part of the knot which sucked the board off the build plate and snapped the bit but not once did it loose a step. Coming from open looped stepper motors which if that were the case in this situation they would have skipped steps and never knew it was off track. I am blown away by the performance of these motors and controller. I ended up bring 2 more controllers and motor kits on spring sale and glad I did. Highly recommended

Looks like a really nice kit.
I am fairly new to CNC equipment, having mostly used 3D printers and a CNC plasma table in the past. I'm planning to use this stepper motor kit to build my own CNC router so my review will be with that in mind. This will be a preliminary review for now, and I'll update things as my build progresses. The stepper motor kit comes very well packaged in a heavy duty box. There is ample padding inside to protect everything, and my kit arrived with no damage whatsoever. All the parts seem to be of good quality with nothing objectionable in the machined surfaces or painted finishes. The buttons on the controller all work well. The connectors and wiring harness also seem to be of decent quality. I didn't have much trouble getting the controller connected to my computer for a test run. Initially it wouldn't connect, but after realizing the e-stop button was pressed down I reset that and I was good to go. Each of the motors worked great, along with the e-stop and spindle controller. Overall I'm very happy with the appearance and function of the controller and 4 steppers. The wiring harness is designed specifically for the Genmitsu 4030 size machine, which has a fairly small work area (400x300mm). I have seen videos of people using the original wiring harness with Genmitsu's extension kit, which increases the work area to 600x500mm, but the wires are just barely long enough. For my application I would like to have a longer set of wires to allow for more flexibility in sizing of my work area, but I understand this kit is designed as a direct replacement for the smaller machine. Lengthening each wire seems like it would be quite tedious. At the time I ordered my kit they did show a 6050 version with the longer wiring harness but it wasn't available for me to order. Other than the short wiring harness I can't think of any other significant drawbacks to this kit. Overall it seems like a nice upgrade to an existing machine or a good starting point to build your own.

Love this upgrade
Closed loop steppers make this 10x theachine it was and they are cheap compared to any other closed stepper

Bad decision to upgrade - UPDATE
I decided to upgrade my ProvrXL 4030 with the closed loop motors and this was a big mistake. Initially, the cut quality was poor so I contacted Customer Service and initially they responded and tried to help. None of the suggestions helped and when I made the suggested GRBL changes, the Z-axis now goes in the inverse direction regardless of any setting I change. This makes the CNC unusable. When I tried used the laser using LightBurn, basic circles have a flat spot and the power levels don’t seem to be consistent. These same items were fine before the upgrade. Also software such as gSender no longer works.Initially, customer service responded very quickly but since my last emails, I have heard nothing in about 4 days which is very frustrating. It may be as simply as replacing the controller unit but I get the impression that is not an option. I may go back to the old motors but I would expect a refund for the closed-loop system. It should also be noted that the supplied wires got the Y-axis motors are to short if you have the extended bed.You can see in the photo how poor the lettering is and that there are random cuts. This exact carve was done before the upgrade and it looked fine and as expected.UPDAT:I was able to get a new controller from Genmitsu and this seemed to address most of the issues. The CNC worked much better although there appeared to be a lag between the two Y axis motors. When I let them know, they immediately replaced the faulty motor with a new one and now the system wors as expected. I gave them 4 stars for the unit working but it isn't a 5 due to their poor QC. The unit should have worked correctly the first time.
