For some reason, I previously thought it was a good idea to spend less money and get a battery operated product like the one in the 2nd picture. After going through two of those costing around $20 each in two years, I realized I was wasting my money. They are cheap, flimsy, with tiny motors that lock up with thick peanut butter.I finally decided to get a real machine, with a cord, and a serious motor. This Oster (1st picture), is just a smaller version of my big blender. I think I could put rocks in it and they would turn into dust. It’s the difference between a 49 Volkswagen, and a hemi-powered ram truck.If you want a sturdy, reliable machine, that will last a long time, spend a little extra and get this Oster!

the bottle cracked after less than a year. i ordered a replacement supposedly to fit my blender, it didnt. No other options since there was only 1 that matched the model number. the motor part works great, but not useful when i cant locate a replacement bottle to fit!

It is an excellent personal blender. It allows you to prepare smoothies quickly and is super practical.

I use this daily and do love it ... I have owned two of these blenders in the past .. one I had to retire after 10years and the other is still working perfectly.I use this blender daily even though I have a milk frother and a Vitamix and a blend tech ...I make a large coffee with add ins every morning and this is so quick to use and clean up and fits in a basket so I keep it off my counters.4 star review is only because the new base isn't compatible with my old containers and blades... I thought they would be..But since I have the other old style blender at our vacation condo, I won't have to throw them away. And we can use the container and travel lids still too.

Had the older version of this blender and it worked great for years. But then it finally broke. So we bought this newer version. My 12year tried to make a smoothie and the plugged in base literally shredded the base of the blender (which is rubber). In the older version it was all a hard plastic. I assumed my 12 yr old did something wrong, so I reordered it. But then the same thing happened. This newer model seems to have a design flaw. Will be looking for a different brand.

In the summer I love to make smoothies with frozen berries. I had an Oster mini blender similar to this one, but I wore it out. This is a perfect replacement. They improved the design by adding a power button. My only complaint is I have to hold down the button for it to blend. It really doesn't take long at all to liquify a full 20oz container of frozen strawberries and some soda water into a refreshing smoothie. The design is compact, perfect for my lack of counterspace.
