This steamer can be used in the UK which is where I bought it for.THe 50/60hz means the input transformer is compatable with the USA which uses 60hz mains frequency, and 50hz which most of the rest of the world uses.Hope this answers your query

Is this pba free. how much plastic is used in its build?

Items said on box BPA free. water tank and water collection trays are plastic. Lid is glass and cooking chambers and pots are stainless steel. This steamer is not very big 2 to 3 person approximately and does not have a UK 13 amp plug fitted.

If a larger steamer is needed the the new Morphy Richards 470006 Intellisteamer is BPA free, stainless steel with glass lids. Also has a 13 amp UK plug. I have both machines and use them daily.

The specific device runs on 220 Volts, 50 HZ in my home.The user guide mentions for UK:For UK use only▪▪ This product is supplied with a 13 A plug conforming to BS 1363 fitted to themains lead. If the plug is unsuitable for your socket outlets or needs to bereplaced, please note the following. If the plug is a non-rewireable one, cutit from the mains lead and immediately dispose of it.
