Fantastic pants - but be warned they run long and are very heavy and relatively baggy
These are fantastic pants, if their characteristics are what you're looking for. Here are the key points to know:* They are quite heavy - they're thick and they weigh A LOT more than most "normal" pants such as jeans. Suitable for colder weather, but not a summer hike.* They run long, and five washings and hot dryings shortened them somewhat but they still drag on the ground if I don't have shoes on.* With all the pockets, and generally oversize/baggy, nobody will mistake them for slacks -- you'll look like a soldier for better or worse.* They are extremely comfortable, and the elastic waist is a fantastic feature -- they flex and you'll never feel constrained.* The pockets are fantastic because there are many of them, and they all fasten securely.* You'll need a belt -- they're just so heavy that they'll start to fall down without a belt.* I wore these on long hikes and casual mountain biking and they were perfect - but the weather was very cool.* No need to iron as far as I'm concerned - you won't be wearing them to the office Christmas party anyway. The absolute best pair of pants I've ever owned, for comfort and utility -- as long the weather isn't too warm and I can get away with a very casual look.

Love these pants!
I've worn these for about two weeks now and washed them several times. Great fit, good quality and plenty of strategically placed pockets. I like the fact that they are cotton, they are a little stiff at first but not really that bad and after a couple of washes they softened up some. This would indicate to me that they will last for a while. I tend to have one or two pair of pants that I wear when I'm not suited up for work and I think these are my new favorites. One of the reviews I read before buying stated something about the button being cheap and coming off easily. Either they got a bad pair or they have fixed the problem because the button seems pretty sturdy to me. I bought 32" waist and I usually go back and forth between a 33" and 32" when buying pants, with the hidden stretch design in the waist these fit great and are very comfortable.

Huge pockets
First? If you are actually using these pants in combat conditions, if you actually use magazine pouches for magazines and not your cellphone and 110 punchdown tool, stop reading now. Nothing I say will be useful to you. But, if you are like me and just enjoy a slightly socially inappropriate tactical look while having a convenient place to store your gadgets and tools, read on.Unlike the tactical 5.11 pants, I can fit my kindle /with/ the cover that has the reading light in the cargo pocket and still close said pocket. For me? This is huge. I'm catching up on my cyberpunk, and it's pretty great to be able to whip out some Rudy Rucker whenever I'm in line. The cellphone pockets, though, are a little small on these pants (the cellphone pocket on the 5.11 pants is exactly right..) - but they are usable with my samsung galaxy slide and personally, I like the 5.11 back pockets better than the back pockets on these pants. The back pockets on these pants, besides being smaller, have a velcro flap. Considering that I'm very rarely in a position where something in my back pockets might actually fall out, the flaps are unnecessary. That, and with my 5.11 pants, the back pockets are huge and make super convenient 'dump bags' - When I'm at the co-lo racking up new servers, every single ethernet cord comes in it's own plastic bag and it's own two twist ties. I can't just set it down; it's so windy that I'd spend all afternoon chasing it around. So I just stuff the garbage in my back pocket. .With these pants, I have to get the flap out of the way, and then the pockets themselves are just way smaller than on the 5.11 pants.Overall, though, I think it is a four point five stars. Maybe I'll hack off the flaps on the back pockets and see how that works.

Great long lasting pants
Great long lasting pants. I love these traveling on a plane. The pockets are great for keeping handy all of the "required" devices for business travel without being awkward for movement (cell phone, wallet, id, boarding passes, headphones, etc) or uncomfortable to sit in for long periods of time. The pockets are also great for stashing things quickly when trying to get off the plane. They don't show the wear and tear and wrinkles of travel but they are very comfortable and without a hard look, they have blended well in meetings at the end of a flight where " business casual" is the norm. They have also spent a lot of time on equipment installation sites. The look is a step up from what the trades are wearing but the black color hides dirt for when you need to do more than supervise. This is my second pair. The first pair is showing some wear and fraying on the pocket flaps and the cuff at the heal after 3 years of high tier frequent flyer status. The first pair will now be used for weekend work.

Comfortable, True to Size, Versatile, Great for Camping and Hiking
Gunny Ermey would have been proud! These pants are excellent for camping! Very rugged and you get a great product for your money. It has plenty of room and options if you carry and you can store away a pocket knife, compass, flashlight, and folded up map in the pockets. Very comfortable and true to size. I bought the cotton one as I have a polyester one already. Both perform well in the rain. The cotton one does absorb a bit of water if you are in a downpour or in the rain for a long time but it dries rather quickly and doesn't feel like it is absolutely soaked. I would recommend this as a range pant for anyone and it is absolutely perfect for camping/hiking!

Great pants
They were not ripstop as I thought. My fault for not reading. I will keep them as I have had several pairs of these pants over the years. They are a little heavier but still comfortable.
