Great hardware but you don't own your data or divelogs
Hardware and UI are excellent — great watch, clear dive display. But your dive data is locked behind Garmin Connect, with no way to access logs offline or via BLE. As a diver, I should own my own logs. Until they open access, this keeps Garmin from being a 5-star dive computer. This makes the product dangerous to use with other dive computers as it will never be able to sync data between them or be unified with other computers.Especially in offline settings but with devices, this makes Garmin products significantly less useful. Stay away if you want to own your data or are worried about offline log sharing or dive watch data syncing access.Additionally Garmin cloud access is gated by approved vendors so normal developers or users will never get access to the fit dive logs.Garmin diving api was hinted at being available in late 2026...but that's uncertain. I recommend going shearwater if you want a dive computer and only keeping a single Garmin for payment and other connectivity features of a diving smart watch. Or you could buy an apple watch... And not use it for diving.
