If you made it this far in product research my guess is that you have really been enjoying your new venture into CrossFit.You see other people around the box that have double unders and you are watching them thinking,..."if 3rd graders can do this for fun, why can't I?!?!", so you went home and looked on Amazon to find a jump rope that wasn't crazy expensive but that would be high enough quality that it would have proper weighting and bearings to rotate quickly so that you could start early and stay late and pound out an extra hundred reps each day until one day...one sweet, sweet day... you could start consistently chaining DU's and eventually stand in front of your 5am class and confidently say..."Yeah...it's cool...I don't need to scale this one. I've got Doubles now"....If that's kinda your deal...this is kinda your rope.Good luck.

One of the best speed ropes I have ever used! Great for single unders, double unders, and even triple unders. The rope is smooth and very fast and has enough weight to give you momentum on your swings. It is super nice that it comes with a spare rope and all replacement hardware. In all it is a fantastic product!

The rope is made from plastic sheathed steel rope rather than solid plastic like the cheap ones. The rope is smaller diameter and heavier (in a good way) and doesn't kink like my old $5 jump rope did. This jump rope is pretty sturdy; I feel like I could toss it on the ground without fear of it breaking. Overall I’m very pleased.It comes with two ropes: one black, one blue, both 11 feet long, much too long for most people. While the product description shows the rope being cut shorter using wire cutters, that won't work. Wire cutters are designed for cutting softer metals like copper and aluminum. The core of this jump rope is made of steel rope, which will ruin pliers, wire cutters, scissors, garden shears, etc. Bolt cutters might work but they're expensive.The cheapest and simplest tool for this job is probably a cold chisel (not a wood chisel). The Stanley 16-287 1/2" cold chisel pictured cost less than $3 on Amazon. Additionally, I used two hammers, the side of one as an improvised anvil and the second to strike the cold chisel. A single hard whack went through both plastic sheath and steel rope core. Now my jump rope is the right length!

I have been using a jump rope for a couple years as part of some boxing training. I used a buddy lee speed and would say I'm pretty decent. Now that I'm getting into crossfit workouts and double unders I am looking for a cable speed rope. It is just physics that a thin wire rope will be faster than a PVC cord. I can do double unders and even triple unders with the Buddy Lee PVC rope but this thin wire rope makes it easier.Now as far as these wire coated speed ropes go there seem to be 3 tiers to buy on amazon1- the plastic swivel ones that go for 7-12 dollars. They use a plastic tip bushing and don't have that 360 ball head that the next tier do2nd tier- start around 12 and for 15-16 dollars come with a second wire rope. They tend to have a metal swivel bearing that attaches to the plastic handle and a 360 ball swivel that the actual rope cord goes through. For the couple of extra dollars people should get this over the basic one.Tier 3- 30 dollars and up. Alum handles, double bearings (one above and one below the cord) for smother action.The WOD Nation speed rope is in the Tier 2 area. There are similar ropes for the same price, that look the same, have the same options, come with and extra rope , extra cable locks, a bag , etc. I can't say if another brand that looks the same functions the same, but from the looks it seems they are all made in the same factory in China.What I like about this rope is its fast, or at least faster than my buddy lee, and also faster than some tier 1 plastic swivel ropes at my gym. Another plus is the wire coated cable is not that rigid. Some other reviews mentioned this, I don't think it will kink as easy as some other wire ropes I've used. For the price it seems like the best deal.Dislike-. One handle has better/smoother bearings than the other. If I hold the metal tip and give the plastic handle a good spin it spins for 3 seconds with a lot of turns (50 ish). When I try it with the other handle it spins for .5 seconds and only rotates maybe 3-5 complete turns. I find quality control lacking when items are made for cheaply overseas. I have contacted this company and I'm confident they will send me handles that work as they were meant to. If not I can always return to amazon in 30 days.If both handles spun smoothly and freely this would get 4 stars. I'm sure the majority that get made do and this is just one of a small percentage that were manufactured poorly. If and when the situation is rectified I'll be sure to update my review*Edit- Wrote this review and sent the company a message. Got a reply a day later, on Christmas, that a new rope would be sent to me. I'll have to wait for the rope to get here to see how the bearings work on this one before I update to 4 stars. But that is excellent customer service.**WOD Nation sent me a whole new speed rope. I received it in a couple days. Customer service is great. The new rope's handles however did not spin that well. They were good but not fluid. So I decided to take the handles apart and see what I could do. There are 2 ball bearing units in each handle. On of the ball bearings in the slow original handle was broken, so thats why it was slow. I used some silicone sewing oil to lubricate the rest of the ball bearing units and handles turn so much smoother. I asked WOD Nation if that could just send me 1 ball bearing unit to replace the broken one, however they do not have any parts. Only complete units are sent directly from overseas. I can't really complain about that as I was sent a whole extra rope.I've up my rating to 4 stars as the rope is very decent for the price. And the customer service is very good. I had to use my time to take them apart and add lubrication but to me that was not a big dealI've included a pic of the disassembled handle. It has 2 ball bearing units, a black spacer, the tip piece with the 360 ball swivel in it, and a screw.

I bought this rope to work on my double unders with. The normal gym ropes were too slow. This rope is fast, almost too fast for single unders if you're not conscientious about the speed you're swinging with.My only complaint is the handle. I'm an old retired powerlifter/strongman competitor getting my fitness in with more of a Crossfit style workout, and the handles don't fit my hands really well. They're just a tab bit small. But it's not so bad that I'd drop the rating down.The build seems like a quality build and once I set the length I've never had to do anything else to keep it adjusted. The bearings rotate smooth and feel solid. Overall, it's a great rope.

I was not initially planning on leaving a review for a jump rope....after all, casting all marketing hype aside, a rope is a rope right? Well after using my WOD Nation Speed Jump Rope, I had to mention a few things. Firstly, the extra accessories provided are really great. Love the little carry case and its always nice when you buy something and get stickers. Can never have enough stickers. Sizeing my rope was really easy and took no more than a minute. Compared to my previous rope, this is really light. I had to get accustomed to the weight or lack thereof. After about 10-15 mins of use, I started to appreciate. The rope is also wickedly fast. I was able to go longer with out stopping since my arms and shoulders were not tireing from the weighted handle rope I was accustomed to. I can't wait to use it again. Absolutely love it! Who would of thought a jump rope could stir such emotions. Go figure.

Brilliant! Easy to adjust, just make sure you have some wire-cutters or pliers, scissors will likely not be enough to cut the wire - it's very tough. Really good for going fast. Comfortable to use. Nothing negative to say about it.

Before this one, I owned a great and very expensive speed rope that I used for all my Crossfit WODs. But my wife started doing Crossfit too and, after trying my rope, decided she liked it and she wanted it. So now it's hers. :-(I had to get a replacement fast and I decided for this one. I must say I'm very impressed. It's a very stable and fast rope that allows me to do more than 100 double unders unbroken easily because of the light handles and all the metal bearings. It comes with an additional replacement cable, a carrying bag and some extra bolts.

Awesome bit of kit, i have bought a few poor cheap jump ropes for doible unders and found the bearings break or handles drop apart after a few weeks. A wk in and furious flight simulators at cross fit and i am breaking records for my consecutive doubke unders already.

Comes with 2 ropes, which are fast proving a good workout. Would recommend

Love this skipping rope. Perfect for Crossfit and just keeping fit in general. Really simple and good instructions on how to tailor it to the right size. Love that you're also given a wee bag and a spare rope. Would very much recommend. Wouldn't bother going anywhere else to get a rope when you can get such a good one that's so affordable from this seller :)
