Mine is Late 2008 and it works. I seem to have had a couple of hiccups in the beginning, but that evidently worked itself out. I dont recall doing anything other than maybe a restart.

According to http://support.apple.com/kb/sp500 it seems like that MacBook supports two 1066 MHz RAM chips up to 4 gb each so yes, it should work just fine. Watch youtube tutorials on how to upgrade your own RAM.
