Solid Budget Option for Kayak TransportPicked these up to transport two kayaks on my SUV, and for the price, they’ve done the job well. The installation was pretty simple. Once mounted, they held the kayaks securely during multiple highway trips with no issues.If you’re looking for a reliable, budget-friendly set of J-bars and don’t mind a little DIY effort during setup, these are a great value.

Finding the right product that will luve up to its features can be difficult. I read all the reviews for this product and decided to give it a go. The box was secure and the parts inside were very well packaged. All parts were present as well as the addition of rubber adhesive pads for the clamping the metal bars to your rack system. The rubber pads were a plus and very happy they were included. I am a visual learner, so the directions were very easy for me to understand. Assembly was pretty straight forward and took about 30 min for me to do by myself. I did use a ratchet to help speed the process up. The product does come with a tool and I used it for the longer bolts. The directions do not specifically say to use washers when attaching the plates to your rack, but the pictures do show washer. I placed a towel on the roof of my car to set my parts in and extra protection. This step took about 20 mins. Move your car to a shady spot if you can. I have factory installed racks on my SUV and the parallel bars are on a tilt, so the J mounts have a slight tilt. If you bars are straight, then the J bars will be straight. The product is super sturdy once installed, very stout. The additional accessories are a real plus. I have three kayaks so the 3rd will sit in between. Very pleased and a fair price as well.

Instructions were funny but I was easily able to assemble and install racks. So far they do their job and securely hold my kayaks. The main issue I have is that one of the straps is significantly shorter than the other 3 and is not long enough to use. Super disappointed since that meant I had to buy more straps and this was supposed to be an all in one for me.

These kayak racks are sturdy and allow us to easily transport both of our kayaks. The straps keep them secure and there's not much noise on the road even traveling @ 60mph. Only con is they must be removed after each use since there's no locking mechanism (which our roof rails have) so it is time consuming removing them after each use and then installing them again. No issues with keeping them atop vehicle in garage but I wouldn't want to go other places where the vehicle might be unattended (while shopping, dining, etc.) as they could easily be tampered with and removed which would not be a good thing.

I got this and was putting it together and several of the bolts that hold the whole thing together were already stripped and could not be used. Wasn’t even able to use.
